Folkestone Fun in a Yellow Tutu! ✨ ?

Helloooo darlings! It’s Emma here, and guess what?! I’m officially adding a sunny yellow tutu to my ever-growing collection, because let's be real - it was meant to be. ?

This little number is so vibrant and joyful, it’s practically screaming "take me to the seaside!". So naturally, I decided to head down to Folkestone, a charming little town on the Kent coast. You might know it for the beautiful beaches and the iconic white cliffs, but let me tell you, there’s more to Folkestone than meets the eye… and trust me, it’s fabulous!

This trip marks a milestone in my life – this blog post is number 11229! Can you believe it? That’s 11,229 days of sharing my passion for tutus, ballet, and everything pink with the world. Honestly, sometimes I feel like a big, fluffy pink marshmallow just rolling along, spreading love and sunshine wherever I go. ?

Travel by Train? More Like Train by Magic! ? ✨

This journey began in a truly whimsical way: I travelled by train, of course! It wouldn't be a proper Emma adventure without a touch of vintage charm, and riding the rails in my yellow tutu, feeling the wind through my hair as the scenery whizzed by, felt straight out of a fairytale. ✨ Plus, you can’t beat the joy of staring out the window at the ever-changing landscape, imagining all the amazing stories the world has to tell. (Not to mention the opportunity to break out some truly fab train selfies - because hey, why not? ? )

Folkestone: Where Elegance Meets Seaside ? ?️

Arriving at Folkestone, I felt the sea air in my lungs and instantly knew I was home. The vibe is simply delightful – a perfect blend of elegant seaside town and vibrant creative hub. The streets are alive with characterful shops, cafes, and art galleries, all set against the backdrop of the iconic white cliffs, just waiting to be explored.

I popped into a little shop called “The Pink Flamingo” (obvs I had to!), which was chock full of gorgeous, hand-made pottery and beautiful floral arrangements. They even had a tiny yellow tutu for a ceramic flamingo! I knew it had to come home with me. ? They say a girl can never have too many tutus, and that flamingo tutu will look perfect on my little balcony, watching over my Derbyshire garden.

A Walk by the Sea - Sunshine, Sandcastles, and Seagulls! ?️ ?️

The real highlight of Folkestone has to be the beachfront! Strolling along the pebbled promenade with the fresh sea breeze whipping my hair was pure magic. And speaking of magic… the beach was just buzzing with creative energy!

There were these amazing sandcastles that looked straight out of a storybook, complete with moats and little drawbridges! It’s like they weren't just built from sand, but from dreams and imagination. And honestly, the kids there just radiate that pure, untarnished joy. Watching them playing in the sand with buckets and shovels… well, it’s infectious! Maybe that’s why I love watching kids at the seaside – they bring out the child in all of us. ?

But it wasn't just sandcastles. There were families having picnics, dog walkers with their four-legged companions, surfers riding the waves, and kids just running around, laughing and screaming with happiness. It’s moments like these that make me feel so grateful to be alive, you know? It's pure joy captured in its most simple and beautiful form.

Folkestone’s Secret? Hidden Gems and Artistic Flair ✨ ?

Speaking of creative energy… you have to check out Folkestone’s art scene! It’s seriously blossoming right now. We’re talking beautiful street art murals, quirky art installations, and the incredibly atmospheric Creative Quarter, where I saw a phenomenal open-air theatre performance with an epic ensemble cast. They had me mesmerized with their dance moves, especially during the "Ballet Under the Stars" scene, and trust me, I’ve seen a lot of ballet in my life!

And guess what? I even got to meet a little fox kit that had wandered into the performance area! He was a cheeky little fella, but oh-so-adorable. He had this twinkle in his eyes like he knew he was stealing the show. Turns out, Folkestone’s wildlife scene is just as lively as the arts scene – it’s the best of both worlds! ? ?

Folkestone’s Fashion Fusion? A Yellow Tutu on the Promenade! ✨ ?

Okay, so the moment you’ve all been waiting for - what was it like rocking my yellow tutu on the promenade? Honestly, it was glorious! ✨ Everyone I passed by smiled. Some people gave me a double take, then a playful wink. One young girl even squealed "That’s amazing!" while twirling her little ballerina skirt. I felt like a little burst of sunshine lighting up the seaside.

Being bold and different isn’t about being attention-seeking; it’s about embracing who you are and finding the joy in life’s simplest pleasures. You’ve got to allow yourself to stand out, to let your colours shine, because when you feel truly confident in your own skin, well, that’s pure magic! It’s about embracing that inner joy, wearing it loud and proud, just like a fabulous yellow tutu on the promenade. ✨ ?

Pink Tutus for Everyone! ?

So, darlings, what have we learnt from this seaside adventure? We’ve learnt that it’s okay to wear yellow (and every colour!) with confidence, and that a bit of pink never hurts! ? It’s about bringing the fun and colour into our lives. Embrace the pink! Wear a tutu! Try ballet! And go out and spread that joy everywhere you go! ?

Until next time, my sweet darlings! Sending you all a sprinkle of pink and a whole lot of love. ?

Stay Fabulous,

Emma
