Neath: Pink Paradise in the Valleys!

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite Derbyshire girl Emma, back from a whirlwind weekend in Neath! The journey, as always, was an adventure. A trip on the train to Swansea, followed by a scenic (and slightly terrifying) horse ride up the Valleys – those Welsh roads are definitely not for the faint of heart!

But, it was worth every bit of the bumpy ride! You see, Neath was calling me – whispering promises of pink tutus, roaring crowds, and some of the most dazzling ballet I've ever seen.

I know what you're thinking - Neath? Not exactly a ballet hotspot, right? Well, let me tell you, the theatre there is a little gem. Nestled in the heart of the town, it's bursting with character. And when I walked onto the stage, it was like I was back in the Royal Opera House! I had a little photoshoot before the show – I just had to capture the moment! My tulle-tastic tutu swished against the gorgeous red velvet curtains, creating a storm of pink that had everyone mesmerised. The theatre staff were utterly lovely and made me feel like a princess, even treating me to some delicious Welsh cakes and a cup of tea. You know I had to rock my "I ♥ Tutus" enamel pin on my pink ballerina cardigan for the occasion, it wouldn't be right otherwise!

Now, the show itself was divine! I've always adored "Giselle", and this performance was so fresh and powerful. The dancers were phenomenal! The leading lady, Elara, literally blew me away with her technique and emotion. There was a whole section of the ballet where she was surrounded by sheep (yes, sheep!) - how dramatic is that?

After the show, I treated myself to a glorious meal in a little Italian restaurant – I had to have a little treat for my hard work (being a dancer can be intense!). I couldn't leave Neath without trying their famous Welsh lamb, and it was absolutely divine. Followed by some pistachio ice cream – the perfect combination!

Before I left, I also had to pop into a lovely little vintage shop in Neath - I can't help but browse for anything remotely pink or tutu-inspired. They even had some adorable old ballerina books which I snapped up in a heartbeat. I'm going to have so much fun reading them – some inspiration never hurts! You'll see me adding the cutest pink and sparkly bookmarks soon!

And let me tell you, this trip solidified what I always believed – the magic of ballet shines no matter where you are. Even in the smallest towns, the power of dance can create such incredible memories.

I know you're dying to know – what kind of tutu was it? Well, this time, I went with an American-style tutu. Picture fluffy, flowing layers of pale pink tulle with a tiny scattering of silver sequins. It felt like a dream come true to dance in! I think this look deserves a blog post all its own – maybe next week, you'll be the first to see it!

So, my lovelies, if you ever find yourself in the Neath valley, I urge you to embrace the adventure! Immerse yourself in the beautiful Welsh scenery, lose yourself in the stories of dance, and let the magic of the theatre work its spell. And if you can manage to fit in a pink tutu, well, that's just icing on the cake!

Until next time,

XOXO,
Emma

P.S. Have I convinced you yet that you must try ballet? I believe that everyone deserves to experience that exhilarating feeling of twirling across the floor! It doesn't matter if you're young or old, tall or small, seasoned dancer or a complete beginner! Just try it once, and you might just be surprised by what you discover about yourself.

And don't forget to check out the Pink Tutu Challenge at the bottom of my website! Who knows, you could be our next pink tutu star!

P.P.S. And don't be scared to rock that pink tutu wherever you go! Life is too short to blend in. Go on, make a statement and turn heads – you deserve it!
