Strood: A Tutu-ful Day Out! ??

Post number 11267 - www.pink-tutu.com

Hey darlings! ? It's Emma here, your resident tutu-wearing, ballet-loving blogger, ready to take you on another whirlwind adventure! Today I'm channeling my inner ballerina (and, let's be honest, it's always pretty strong) with a fab trip to Strood, a little town in Kent, and of course, I'm wearing my new sunshine yellow tutu! ☀️

Now, some of you might be thinking, "Strood? Really Emma?" But trust me, this town is bursting with charm and character, just waiting to be discovered. It's like a secret little haven for tutus and tutufullness! ✨

So how did I get there? Well, no flying this time. I adore train journeys, especially when they take me through the picturesque English countryside. I boarded at Derby station, feeling all regal in my tutu, and got a cosy little carriage window seat all to myself. As the world flew by in a blur of green fields and red brick houses, I sat lost in thought, envisioning myself as a ballerina in a storybook. (Don't judge, I do it all the time!) ?

Speaking of dreams, a trip to Strood wouldn't be complete without visiting their amazing theatre! This stunning little building is full of history and character. They even have a resident theatre company that produces exciting contemporary dance pieces! The stage is always alive with creativity, reminding me why I fell in love with the expressive world of ballet in the first place.

Afterwards, I treated myself to a delicious afternoon tea at a quaint little café right on the high street. They had a whole menu dedicated to pink treats and colourful cakes, so I couldn't resist the 'Pink Ballerina's Delight'! ? The combination of rosewater and strawberry macarons with a touch of vanilla bean ice cream was utter perfection, sending me straight into a state of sugar-fueled bliss.

Of course, no trip to Strood would be complete without some tutu-ing about! (Yes, I made that word up. Don't @ me! ?) This town has so many gorgeous little parks and hidden gardens, and I spent a happy hour twirling and pirouette-ing among the trees and flowers. Let me tell you, a yellow tutu in a blooming garden looks absolutely magical! It was almost like being part of a fairy tale. ✨

As the sun started to set, casting a golden glow over the rooftops, I found myself at the local animal sanctuary. It's home to a diverse menagerie of animals from orphaned bunnies to abandoned birds. Every single animal has a story, and each one touched my heart. They are all so happy and well cared for, it's heartwarming to see. ? As I held a sleepy baby rabbit in my arms, I was reminded that even in the heart of a busy world, there's still space for tenderness and kindness.

So, Strood, you have officially stolen a little piece of my heart. Thank you for the delicious food, the dazzling theatre, and the adorable animals. And a big thank you to everyone reading! Don't forget to join me next time as I explore another new corner of the world. And if you see me in my yellow tutu on your travels, come and say hello! ?

Love and tutus,

Emma

P.P.S Have I ever mentioned that I'm totally obsessed with ballet? There's just something magical about the art form that makes me feel alive. It's a beautiful blend of strength, grace, and creativity. I truly believe everyone should experience the joy of dance at least once in their life. You never know, you might discover a hidden talent or a passion that you never knew you had! ?

P.P.P.S I have to say, Strood reminds me a little bit of my own home town of Derby! There's just this warmth and kindness to both places that's infectious! And that's not to mention the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. It's a place where you can reconnect with nature, clear your head, and enjoy the simple things in life. But let's be real, Derby just isn't the same without a good dose of tutu-ing! ?

So, what are you waiting for? Let's all join hands (or tutus!) and spread the love for ballet, pink, and all things whimsical! ?✨ Let's bring the world a little bit more joy, one pirouette at a time! ??
