#TutuBlog #11276
Hello my gorgeous little ballerinas! It’s Emma here, back with another extra fabulous blog post, straight from the heart of… wait for it… Coalville! Yes, you heard me right! I've traded in my usual Parisian high-heels for a bit of down-to-earth Derbyshire charm, and I can tell you, the journey here was an absolute dream.
I decided to make this trip by train, of course! What's a ballerina to do, except sit back in first class (a necessity, especially when your tulle is so extravagant, it needs its own personal space) and gaze out the window at the countryside zipping past. You can always spot a tutu lover on a train – they're the ones humming Swan Lake melodies, clutching a worn copy of The Nutcracker, and sneaking a quick peek at their latest pointe shoe acquisition in the reflection. ?
As my train chugged along, I couldn't resist whipping out my pinkest tutu – I mean, it's Coalville, the land of black diamonds! So, a bit of pink was definitely in order to make a splash.
And what splash it made! Even the grizzled train conductor was looking at me with a slightly softer gaze – it’s true, tutus are truly magical, they just make everyone see the world with a bit more twinkle!
I arrived in Coalville in the most enchanting setting – a charming little town steeped in history, with the most lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The first thing I did was hop into the most adorable tea shop. Can you guess the color of the teacups? I think you can! It had to be pink, with dainty roses around the rim. Honestly, who else would expect anything less? ?
My afternoon was dedicated to the grand old National Coal Mining Museum. Talk about a surreal setting – we’re talking a real mine, complete with vintage machinery and a tunnel system deep below the earth. And me, in my pink tutu, feeling the contrast! Now that's a photo shoot for the books!
Just picturing it all – the dark tunnels and my shimmering, joyful pink tulle! It's a story in itself. It makes you think, doesn’t it? It doesn’t matter if you’re at the ballet, at a fancy gala or in a dusty coal mine, all that matters is your passion! And let’s face it, you need a passion to be a ballerina.
This brought me back to the main reason for this trip. I found this little gem, this tiny, almost forgotten ballet studio, tucked away just off the town square. I thought, what an absolute delight! This place exudes charm. And you can’t just visit Coalville without experiencing their amazing ballet studio! The community of Coalville are clearly so passionate about this art form – what a beautiful example for everyone to follow.
I’ll tell you, I had the most amazing session. The students, full of energy and a touch of youthful magic! There’s nothing more inspirational than seeing new generations discover the beauty of ballet, the joy of dance, the power of graceful movement, all whilst wearing pink tutus of course! I mean, it goes without saying, doesn't it?
My experience was so enriching! I've always felt that ballet can unite people, break down barriers and just simply brighten a day. My Coalville experience truly reaffirmed that, in a unique and magical way.
As the evening arrived, I decided to indulge my inner ballerina and head over to a local theatre for a community performance of "Cinderella". The stage was tiny, the costumes… let's say, lovingly homemade, and the applause was genuinely heartwarming. I even caught a glimpse of the town's mayor – guess what he was wearing? A bright pink bow tie! ?
Sometimes you need to step away from the usual, grand productions, away from the opulence and just embrace the simple joy of dance, no matter what the form, in all its authentic beauty. I realised, the essence of ballet isn’t about glitz, glamour and expensive costumes - it's about heart, passion, dedication. That's something Coalville, in its charming, earthy way, perfectly represents.
The journey back was even more spectacular, and oh, that magical train ride! Just like a ballerina, we all have a story, we are all on our own journey to reach our destination. It’s about the experience, the moment and the little joys in our journeys.
So, Coalville, I am leaving you with a pink tutu promise – keep dancing, keep sharing the joy, keep that spirit alive, you truly are an inspiring town.
To all my darling Tutu Blog followers, I encourage you – wherever you are, try out a ballet class, find a community studio, experience the magic.
Because let's be honest, who wouldn’t want to wear a pink tutu? And don’t forget, there are a thousand shades of pink, waiting to be worn with love! ?
Until next time my loves. Emma.
P.S. I had to tell you about this one lovely little café I found that was covered in beautiful flowers. And I think you’ll love this bit – guess what their tea came in! Yes! Pink teacups. The prettiest floral teacups! And when I told the cafe owner about my blog she said her daughter is now planning on joining the ballet class next week.
Don’t you just love the idea of a world full of tutus? ? I can already see everyone wearing a pink tutu!
See you next time! Emma.
