Leighton Buzzard: Tutu-licious Travels & A Pink Pony Ride!

Post Number: 11278

Hello my gorgeous darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink-loving ballerina, reporting live from Leighton Buzzard, a delightful little town nestled in the heart of Bedfordshire. I know, I know, you’re probably thinking "Emma, Leighton Buzzard? Is that even on the map?". Well, my dears, let me assure you, it's a gem of a place, full of charm and history – perfect for a tutu-licious day trip.

Speaking of tutus… I decided to splurge on myself today. My new tutu arrived this week and it’s the absolute dreamiest creation! It’s a frothy concoction of layers upon layers of pale pink tulle with delicate white embroidery, almost good enough to eat, darling! This baby is definitely making a guest appearance in my next performance – it’s a statement piece, trust me.

And speaking of performance, I absolutely had to share something with you. Today was ballet class, followed by the most exciting news! The local ballet company announced they're putting on Giselle next month. You know I can't miss it, right? The sheer beauty of that choreography – pure magic. I’m already plotting out what pink outfit I'm going to wear, because the performance must be met with an equally fabulous outfit!

After class, I felt the need for a little adventure and, being the horse-loving girl that I am, I had to head over to the Leighton Buzzard Riding School. This charming little place has been there forever and is nestled on the outskirts of town. What was even better than the glorious smell of horses (a scent I could bottle and bathe in, honestly!) was the opportunity to take a magical pony ride through the surrounding countryside. He was a pink dappled beauty and so well behaved! The crisp country air, the sun on my face, and a cute little pink pony – now that’s my idea of a perfect day out!

It's always lovely to get out of the city, escape the noise and reconnect with nature. I love the fact that, in a country like England, you’re never too far from open fields, beautiful woodland, and the thrill of galloping across it all on a fluffy, friendly pony. It's this kind of peaceful and quiet beauty that brings me right back to why I adore life in the English countryside. It reminds me of my Derbyshire roots and how much I love all things floral, romantic, and beautiful.

Oh, and you know what else reminded me of home? This delightful cafe I discovered after my pony ride! They had the most exquisite strawberry shortcake – absolutely heavenly! I simply cannot resist anything that even remotely resembles pink, darling. It’s my favourite colour after all. Did I tell you that? I love the delicate shades of pink – a blush pink for a graceful ballet dress, a shocking pink for a sassy street wear ensemble – I’ve got pink covered in every shade, just you wait and see!

The day wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the Leighton Buzzard Library. This grand building is a real local treasure, tucked away in the town square and oozing history from every angle. I spent the afternoon catching up on the latest ballet magazines. They’re absolutely filled with tips and inspiration, and a few fabulous outfit ideas for my next performance, you just wait!

As I prepare for my evening, my mind races with thoughts of tomorrow's adventure – perhaps I’ll visit the zoo at Woburn and get my fill of pink flamingos!

And that brings us to the end of my day, dear readers. My lovely darlings, have I inspired you to head off on an adventure, to visit the most quaint corners of England, and perhaps try a pink tutu for yourself? I’m all about encouraging everyone to give ballet a try, embrace their inner grace, and enjoy the magical experience of dance. Don’t forget, it's never too late to join the pink revolution and add a little tutus to your life.

And of course, I would love to hear all about your ballet adventures – whether you're joining a class, attending a performance, or even just daydreaming about twirling!

See you tomorrow, my lovely darlings!

Much love and pink kisses,

Emma
