Good morning lovelies! ☀️ Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink-tutu enthusiast, back with a new blog post fresh from the beautiful market town of Grantham in Lincolnshire!
Oh, my darlings, you know I can't start a post without talking about the most fabulous accessory, right? Today's tutu choice was a truly unique find. Picture this: a fluffy, cloud-like tutu made entirely from the softest pink feathers. It shimmered in the sunlight and practically danced around me! It felt like wearing a miniature pink cloud! You can imagine how much joy it brought me as I explored Grantham, and honestly, how many stares I received. My aim in life is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu, and a feathery one at that. Who's ready for a Tutu Revolution? 革命
Horse Power and the Joy of Travel
Grantham is absolutely steeped in history, and, as you know, history is my passion! It's all about the legendary Margaret Thatcher and those magnificent horse-drawn carriages that pull you through time, bringing to life the era of the Tudors. Oh my gosh, did you know Henry VIII even stayed here in his luxurious Manor House? whispers They said he kept his many horses and much-loved queens there too... ?
Anyway, Grantham's railway station is simply divine. There's something romantic and elegant about trains. They are a mode of transportation that truly takes you on a journey! Plus, Grantham has a train station fit for royalty with all that Georgian charm, right? I love how they have kept so much of the original design. They also have these amazing stained glass windows that were just begging for a photoshoot - so, of course, I had to oblige! ??
But you know what really stole the show? The horses! ? I got to see a whole herd galloping through the countryside - truly magnificent, my dears. Their strong limbs and beautiful mane reminded me so much of the graceful ballet dancers in my class back home in Derbyshire. What a joy to behold. You could practically hear the rhythmic beat of their hooves as if they were doing a horse-tutu ballet. Oh, my dreams do wander far and wide! ?
Ballet & Grantham - A Story to Tell
The locals, dear hearts, are the best - so friendly, welcoming, and a right laugh! I'm all about kindness and a bit of humour; a giggle truly brightens up any day, don't you think?
We chatted about their beloved Grantham. The highlight of their week, it seemed, was the Ballet & Grantham festival happening that very weekend! Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
It’s the ultimate festival celebrating all things dance – classical ballet, street dance, even hip-hop and tap, oh my! I spent my evening captivated by talented dancers showcasing their talent, each routine unique and heart-stopping. From “The Nutcracker” to contemporary dance pieces inspired by Shakespeare - you name it, they had it. The highlight? A street dance performance set against the backdrop of Grantham’s historical streets; the costumes were fabulous, the energy electric. They took street dancing to a whole new level. I'm actually going to look for similar classes back in Derbyshire - you just know that pink tutu of mine will be making an appearance there! ?
Grantham, You Were A Gem
Grantham really got me thinking, you know? I have all the amazing places like New York and Paris on my to-do list - but sometimes, the true jewels are hidden right under our noses. That’s what I love about these blog posts. It's all about celebrating every place, every moment, and being open to discovering hidden treasures everywhere. It's so easy to be blinded by the bigger picture - but let's not forget those little gems, especially those in the English countryside! ?
Oh, darling, I’m off now. More adventures are calling my name. I’ve got my pink tutu ready, and a little train waiting. It’s time to spread some pink joy around the world - just one pink tutu at a time!
