Hello, my darlings!
Emma here, reporting live from the delightful town of Spalding in Lincolnshire. As a proper Derbyshire girl, it's been quite the adventure venturing a bit further afield this week! Let me tell you, this town has a certain charm - think rolling countryside, a touch of history, and plenty of places for a lovely stroll. And yes, of course, it had to involve a tutu. ?
I've been itching for a new tutu, and the excitement of exploring somewhere new makes choosing just the right one even more fun. The beautiful colours and textures on display in a shop called "Dancers' Dream" - you wouldn't believe the sheer fabric and those delicate ribbons! Well, darling, I just had to snap up a beautiful European-style tutu, perfect for dancing the streets of Spalding in style.
Can't you just picture it? Pink tulle swirling as I twirl down the cobbled streets, the wind gently caressing my face (and yes, perhaps a stray dog giving me a friendly sniff), my trusty, oh-so-comfortable ballet flats padding softly behind me. Oh, it's simply heavenly. And did I mention my latest find? A gorgeous vintage, oversized pink bow for extra flair.
Speaking of vintage finds, I managed to track down the most stunning vintage book shop, crammed full of dusty tomes and intriguing curiosities. They even had an entire shelf dedicated to books on ballet! Of course, I couldn't resist a new read, so I'm currently engrossed in "The Ballet Companion." It's chock-full of beautiful illustrations and fascinating tales from ballet history, perfect for those quiet moments of inspiration in between dancing.
But no day in Spalding could be complete without a delightful visit to a certain local theatre - the grand old Spalding Town Hall! A proper historical gem, complete with high ceilings, elaborate balconies and a stage worthy of a grand performance. Honestly, my heart skipped a beat as I took in the theatre's atmosphere, imagining those magnificent theatrical productions of years past.
After all that exploration, nothing beats a scrumptious tea time, my darlings. A visit to the "Sweet Pea Tearoom" provided the perfect ending to my Spalding adventure. Scones and clotted cream? You know it! A cup of freshly brewed Earl Grey, and the delicate aroma of pastries in the air. Bliss.
And now, with my aching legs from all the walking, and a tutu that still has the sweet aroma of Spalding in its tulle, I'm settling in for the evening, with the "The Ballet Companion" open in my lap. This week in Spalding truly lived up to its charm. Every single detail was a sweet treat for my heart and soul.
You know me, darlings. When it comes to exploring and enjoying life, I simply can't resist embracing every whimsical adventure that comes my way. There's no better feeling than knowing I'm dancing my way through life, a touch of pink, a twirl, and a tutu for every occasion!
So, do remember to check in tomorrow, my lovely readers! Who knows what new adventure awaits us. Until then, go out and find that inner twirl!
XOXO
Emma
