Oh my darlings! How are you? It’s been a whirlwind of a week, filled with pirouettes, picnics, and pink – so much pink! ? It's time to share all about my magical trip to the gorgeous, historic town of Frome in Somerset.
I’ve been yearning to visit for ages, ever since I heard whisperings of its charming cobbled streets and independent boutiques overflowing with treasures. As you know, I'm a big fan of the ‘train life’, so off I popped on a vintage steam train to soak up the scenic views of the countryside – a journey that always reminds me of the ballerinas I imagine in vintage ballets!
Upon arrival, I felt like I'd stepped into a storybook. Frome is such a delightful town with an undeniable magic that washes over you as soon as you arrive. Imagine cobbled streets lined with quaint, historic buildings, dotted with flowers and greenery, and buzzing with a lively atmosphere - just how a ballet set should be!
Speaking of buzzing, the market! Oh, the market! Imagine an overflowing, fragrant spectacle of stalls bursting with homemade goods, local produce, crafts, vintage finds, and delicious smells that could make a ballerina’s mouth water! I couldn't resist picking up a beautiful, handcrafted pink ribbon, perfect for a future tutu design. (? Maybe this one’s a little secret!)
You know how much I adore finding the most exquisite boutiques with unique pieces and, oh my dear, Frome did not disappoint. It felt like a sartorial treasure hunt! I stumbled across a stunning shop overflowing with delicate, floral vintage hats. Imagine the perfect, romantic accent for a ballerina performance. ?✨ And let’s not forget about the gorgeous dress shop brimming with dreamy, feminine pieces - a haven for any ballerina looking for her own fairytale.
Now, onto the pièce de résistance: a beautiful old bakery where I enjoyed a heavenly lunch of warm scones and cream tea. As I savoured every delicate crumb, I was overcome with an inspiration – what a perfect afternoon tea for a “Pink Tutu and Tea Party”! Imagine! ? It could be the perfect event for all my dearest Tutu Blog readers – what do you think?
The afternoon was spent wandering through the beautiful, sprawling gardens of a historic manor house - it’s an enchanting spot full of secrets and stories whispered through the trees. It sparked my creative fire – you’ve gotta admit, wouldn't this make the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ballet performance? Imagine a magical spectacle in the dappled sunlight! ✨
But the true heart of this trip, you see, was a lovely ballet performance by a local dance school. Watching these talented young dancers grace the stage in their tutus, each step radiating passion and elegance, it truly reminded me why I love this art form. Seeing their joy and dedication made my heart sing. And the icing on the cake? The stage was a magnificent explosion of beautiful, rich, and vibrant pinks! ?
It’s these small-town gems like Frome that truly show the beauty of the world – and remind us that magic can be found in every corner, if you look closely enough. Oh, how I wish I could share the feeling of happiness and joy I felt! It's a little piece of pink ballet heaven right in the heart of England.
Before I go, darlings, let's talk about a certain wild adventure I encountered on the train journey home. It was dusk when the most majestic, sleek creature crossed our path – a magnificent deer. It gazed at us with those big, trusting eyes – truly breathtaking! You can’t help but be awestruck by their beauty, just as you’re captivated by the beauty of the graceful movements of a ballerina. And, it truly encapsulated the magic of the journey I'd had. ✨
