Designing Your Dream Tutu This July
Hello darlings! It’s that time again, where we look to the newest trends, the hottest looks, and create our own masterpieces. This month, my darlings, let’s focus on those twirling beauties, our tutus and leotards! And for this July, we want a look that screams both elegance and strength. Imagine a ballerina with the grace of a swan, but the power of a lioness. Now, imagine that on you! Oh yes, darling, we can achieve it. Follow me!
First, let’s start with the canvas: the leotard. We’ll need something classic, but with a touch of spice. This July, think jewel tones! Imagine a vibrant sapphire blue, a rich emerald green, or even a luxurious ruby red. And the cut? Fitted, darling! Let those curves sing. Find a leotard that hugs your body beautifully, showcasing every elegant line.
But the star of the show is always the tutu. For this summer, think layers, darling! Imagine a cascade of tulle that whispers in the wind. But to make it truly yours, we need a touch of something unique. Let’s add some colour. Go bold! A sprinkle of turquoise, perhaps? Or maybe a touch of pink at the bottom. Keep it subtle, like a whisper of colour.
Now for the materials! This is what we’ll need:
- A Leotard – We want it fitted, and in a vibrant colour. Think brands like Wear Moi or Bloch.
- A Classic Tutu – Get yourself a quality one, maybe from Dancewear Direct, but don’t forget that you’ll need some fabric to make it stand out.
- Tulle in Contrasting Colours– Buy from a shop like Sew Curvy Fabrics, darling! You don’t need a lot; a single bolt can make a big difference!
- Some Gorgeous Rhinestones! – Just a few here and there, and only if you think it will make the look more special! I always pick mine from Rainbow Fabrics.
- A needle and some matching thread!
Now the fun part! Let’s sew! We'll need some fabric to add layers to the tutu. And what is summer without a bit of whimsy? Let’s attach some colourful tulle to the edges of the tutu. Choose a shade that compliments your leotard, perhaps a brighter turquoise for a sapphire leotard, or a bolder fuchsia for an emerald one. Just enough to create that enchanting feeling, my darlings.
Oh, and for a finishing touch, some rhinestones strategically placed around the bodice can really set your outfit ablaze. It's about finding that sweet balance between timeless grace and trendy elegance.
And that’s all, darling! A stunning and uniquely yours summer ballet look. Remember, don’t be afraid to experiment with colours and shapes, as long as you create a piece that makes your soul sing! Have a lovely summer, and happy twirling!
