Pink Tutu Design and Make at www pink tutu com

Darlings,

It's April, and spring has sprung, which means it's time to embrace a new season of grace and elegance. We're talking tutus and leotards, darlings! Let's create a masterpiece, something truly breathtaking that will leave the audience utterly captivated! This month we're creating a collection which combines classical elegance with a touch of modern chic. This collection will be about subtle flourishes. The true hallmark of this month's masterpiece will be its simple, yet luxurious feel, using stunning fabrics that flow like a whisper. I've designed my own line, using only the finest materials, and believe me, my dears, you will look utterly fabulous,

The leotard: Oh, let's imagine this exquisite garment as a second skin. My signature will be the exquisite use of delicate lace. Don't shy away from delicate floral patterns or classic lace. This detail will create the perfect whisper of femininity, lending itself beautifully to the current ethereal theme we are adopting. Imagine this lovely leotard flowing, almost disappearing beneath your breathtaking movement.

The Tutu: My dear girls, a touch of sparkle. Just a hint to set our exquisite garment apart. Not a shower of glitter, but something truly subtle, maybe a hand-sewn embellishment, like crystal beading along the edges of the layers. This elegant piece needs to shimmer, but never distract, it's about delicate details and elegant touches. Remember to choose the finest, feather-light fabrics.

Don't forget the shoes, darling. They need to compliment the leotard, and be just as glamorous. Our delicate leotards need classic satin, point shoes, and these deserve a matching touch of our gorgeous sparkly details. If you are a true artiste then consider creating your own individual embellishments and use the tiniest bit of glue to attach. We are after a natural look.

Here's the shopping list, darlings:

  • Leotards:
    • Ballet Makers, London: These guys provide fantastic basics, their range is truly outstanding.
    • Freed of London: I am particularly partial to their mesh and floral patterned designs for spring
    • Bloch: Always a classic for good reasons, go for the satin leotard.
  • Lace:
    • John Lewis: Their craft department will always have something for the discerning artiste. Don't forget to choose fine mesh lace for that elegant touch
  • Tutu:
    • Dancewear.com: An online specialist with a large variety and great advice, but their tulle is super-expensive.
    • London Dance Shop: Always worth a browse, and remember, tulle comes in all weights
  • Point shoes:
    • Grishko, Bloch: Go with tried and trusted here, especially for these subtle, minimalist designs, but don't shy away from the fabulous bespoke styles.
  • Beading:
    • Pearl and Crystal: This is my favourite place in London, you will be amazed at the choice.

Enjoy your artistry and take the stage, my dear girls. Have a magical April.

Your's Always,

Madame B.
