Pink Tutu Design and Make at www pink tutu com

Oh darling, September is just *begging* for a new look on the dance floor, don't you think? The summer sun is fading, but the fire in our steps should be blazing! This month, we're channeling the sleek, cool tones of a moonlit lake - think shimmering silver, dusky blues, and that touch of glamorous emerald that says "I'm a star, but I'm approachable". Let's design a tutu and leotard combo that'll have everyone whispering "divine" and "utterly chic".

Let's create a masterpiece:
Tutu Time:

  • A classic, but elevated. Imagine a short, bouffant tutu - think knee-length - in the finest tulle. We'll use a luxurious, soft silk tulle, but a silvery or dark grey shade this time.
  • The magic lies in the layers! For the first three layers, we'll opt for a sheer, diaphanous tulle - almost like a cloud, but with more shimmer. Think sheer, dark silver or a slate grey with tiny, tiny silver beads. For the bottom two layers, we'll go bolder: imagine a beautiful blue-grey or a stunning, almost black sapphire. Let those hues create a beautiful gradient effect from lightest to darkest. It'll be ethereal, yes, but also so incredibly glamorous.
  • Finally, to give our tutu a touch of that magical moonlit effect, we'll use tiny silver beads – not just scattered, but clustered in swirling, organic shapes on the edges of the tutu. This will make it catch the light beautifully, a little bit of a shimmering fantasy.

Leotard Delights:

  • We need a leotard that perfectly compliments our tutu and lets our lines sing. Choose a soft, smooth, stretch satin in a rich emerald green. The tone should have just a hint of deep, silvery gleam. This is a bold colour choice, but will accentuate that beautiful shadow created by our tutu.
  • Add some elegant embellishment to our leotard. I love a simple neckline adorned with silver crystals – not too much, just enough to whisper 'luxury' and 'star power' without being ostentatious. Remember, the tutu is the show-stopper, but the leotard is the graceful backdrop!

Your Shopping List (London edition, naturally):

  • **Tulle** - *Liberty of London* is an absolute haven for the finest fabrics! For the tulle, I'd suggest searching their 'Silks and Satins' department. For the beads, visit their *Trimmings & Notions* counter.
  • **Satin for leotard:** *Harrods*, my love, is the go-to for luxury! Explore their fabrics department, or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, try *The Fabric Centre in Islington*. Remember to look for stretchy, high-quality satin.
  • **Embellishments**: I love *Swarovski* in the heart of *Mayfair* for crystals. Their service is divine! If you are looking for alternative bead options, *Beads & Beyond* in *Soho* has a wealth of beautiful, unique findings.

And darling, remember the final flourish. Our hair? A sleek chignon or an elegant braid adorned with a tiny sprig of fresh mint. It’ll make the entire look unforgettable.

You’ll be dazzling the dance floor, with your own unique moonlit charm, in no time!
