Darlings! Oh, June! What a month it has been. The air crackles with the thrill of the new season, of the promise of light nights and languid picnics. And for us dance lovers, there are exquisite treats on the menu, from London to New York and back again.

I kicked off June with a trip to Paris, my heart fluttering like a hummingbird at the sight of the Eiffel Tower aglow at sunset. But my true delight was reserved for the **Paris Opera Ballet**, darlings. Their opening night production of "La BayadĂšre" was utterly spectacular. The dancing was magnificent, the sets breathtaking. The sheer scale and grandeur of it all – truly divine! I doted on the exquisite **AgnĂšs Letestu**, her arabesques, so long and languid, so captivating. And that final "Kingdom of the Shades" – well, it brought a tear to my eye. The sheer perfection of the corps de ballet was mesmerising. Yes, it was an absolute triumph. And afterwards, a delightful dinner at LapĂ©rouse, followed by cocktails in the glittering confines of the Ritz – just perfection!

Back in London, I caught **The Royal Ballet**'s "Romeo and Juliet" – a classic that never fails to move me. This performance, though, was particularly special. I found myself completely immersed in the story, the pain and passion of the lovers swirling around me like a powerful, tangible energy. **Marianela NĂșñez** gave an absolutely riveting performance as Juliet – her heartbreak so palpable, her dancing so emotionally charged. It was breathtakingly beautiful, my dear, the epitome of vulnerability and raw emotion.

My dear, the Royal Ballet was busy in June! I also enjoyed their "Manon" – such a sumptuous and tragic tale. The choreography by **Kenneth MacMillan** is utterly genius, a potent blend of grandeur and intimacy, reflecting the complexities of Manon’s life. The beautiful **Laura Morera** embodied the character’s spirit perfectly, her dance weaving together an enthralling story of love, deception, and ultimately, tragedy.

Speaking of choreography, the London stage has been bursting with innovation. The **National Ballet of Canada** presented **Crystal Pite**’s "Revisor" at the Sadler’s Wells – a bold and daring piece, an imaginative commentary on the pitfalls of conformity. It was an electrifying whirlwind of energy, a testament to Pite’s singular talent. And her choreography, my dear, it’s just so exquisitely complex, yet seamlessly beautiful. She really is one of the most exciting choreographers working today!

Now, across the pond in New York City, the **New York City Ballet** presented **George Balanchine**’s “Agon” at the Lincoln Center. It is such a tour de force of ballet – intricate, clever and beautifully constructed. I always marvel at Balanchine's brilliant musicality. The ballet felt so fresh, even after all these years. You truly do see the depth of his artistry, the genius in the choreography. Of course, it is no easy feat, this Balanchine work – demands immense strength, perfect balance, impeccable coordination. The **New York City Ballet**, particularly **Sara Mearns** and **Tiler Peck** , delivered an absolute stunner of a performance! A brilliant showcase for their extraordinary skill, strength and artistry.

June also saw a delightful revival of **Wayne McGregor**’s “Chroma” at the **Royal Opera House**. This masterpiece of contemporary ballet never fails to excite. With its breathtaking visuals and its dazzling mix of classical and contemporary dance, it’s pure artistic pleasure. The beautiful dancers were on top form, the energy pulsing from the stage! My dear, it’s a vibrant and invigorating dance performance, full of playful humour and dramatic power, and it never fails to transport you to another realm.

June was a whirlwind, wasn’t it, my dears? From London to New York and Paris, ballet took us on an exciting journey through its myriad facets. From classic romantic tales to bold and contemporary creations, there is something for everyone – and each production served up a unique artistic treat.

For me, what stood out, aside from the spectacular performances themselves, was the sense of renewal and vibrancy, a feeling of boundless energy and endless creative possibility. I believe it's a fantastic reflection of what makes dance so magical! So many new choreographers, diverse perspectives, innovative movements. I can’t wait to see what July has in store!

My dear, there’s nothing quite like stepping out into the bright night air after a show, the theatre's energy coursing through your veins. Perhaps, darling, you too are filled with that exhilarating thrill? For the season is still young, the possibilities endless. So don your favourite dress, and make sure you’re wearing a pair of stunning shoes. There’s a world of exquisite ballet just waiting to be enjoyed.
