#TutuTuesday: A Peek at 1847 - The Beginnings of a Tutu-tiful Trend! 🩰💖

Hello, darlings! Welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com, where we delve into the glorious history of the tutu! This week's #TutuTuesday journey takes us back to March 2nd, 1847, a most exciting date indeed! I’ve just stepped off the train from Paris, darling, and oh, the fashion! It's so much more exciting than back in Derbyshire.

This is post number 792 on my Ballet Tutu History blog - how amazing is it that I can travel back in time and share the history of our beloved tutus with you all! It's all thanks to my special talent for performing – I must admit, being a ballerina pays off handsomely, especially when you're trying to fund time travel! I don't mind sharing my secrets, just remember to subscribe to my blog, darlings. 😉

As we take a little trip back to 1847, it's important to remember, my dears, that tutus weren't just about ballet back then - they were a sign of high fashion! Imagine that, the tutu was all the rage! And that's the exciting thing about our beloved dancewear, don't you think? We have this wonderfully long and stylish history, filled with grace and elegance, and who knows, maybe this journey will inspire us all to find new ways to rock a tutu today.

In 1847, Parisian women, as stylish as ever, were loving the "tutu" style in a variety of forms. While tutus wouldn't make their full impact on ballet for another few years, they were certainly starting to gain popularity among the fashionistas of the time! We're talking short, frilly, and oh-so-romantic skirts, darling.

The ballet "Giselle," first performed in 1841, definitely spurred the tutu trend along! Though it’s not what we see today, the dancers did have shorter, lighter skirts than what we’ve seen in centuries past! The “Romantic era,” as they call it, embraced this airy look - think floating through the air with your skirts swirling around you. Sounds like a fairytale to me!

It's incredible to see how fashion trends change, darling. You could practically see the tutu morphing into what we know today - all thanks to the creativity and artistry of the ballet world. Ballet tutus, with their voluminous tiers and romantic beauty, started becoming the dance world's ultimate attire, just a few years after 1847! This year marked the beginnings of a new era of elegance for the tutu! Imagine, my dear readers! What wonderful things could be in store for tutus today? It makes my little ballerina heart flutter just thinking about it! 💖

Now, let’s talk about what else is happening today in 1847! This very date was a big day for French politics – they're just starting a new parliament, a huge change for the country. That's right, dear friends! It's all about new beginnings today. A new parliament, new styles, and...new beginnings for tutus! Don't you just love the parallels?

You see, dear reader, tutus are more than just a pretty piece of fabric! They stand for new beginnings, artistic expression, and sheer joy! They’re for the romantic at heart and for those who dare to embrace their inner ballerina. So, I’ll leave you with this – dare to dream big, darlings, dare to step outside of the ordinary! Embrace a little bit of tutu in your life and be inspired to make a difference – your inner ballerina will thank you! 💖

And don't forget to come back next Tuesday for more tutu-tastic adventures, darling!

Keep twirling,
Emma 🩰 💖
