#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: A Whirl Through the 1850s! 🩰💖
Hello my lovely tutu-loving friends! It's Emma here, back again for another #TutuTuesday adventure into the world of the Ballet Tutu History! Today we're stepping into the world of the 1850s. This was a time of such style and change - think bustle skirts and the emergence of those iconic romantic ballet pieces that have stood the test of time! ✨
Post Number 1323 - It's been a bit of a whirlwind getting here! You wouldn't believe the amazing performance I just witnessed in Paris! Let me tell you, my time traveling train journey wasn't the easiest! That train carriage, crammed full of travellers and their luggage, would have been impossible if it wasn't for my trusty, foldable pink tutu bag! 🚄 It's amazing how that tiny bag holds everything I need. The Parisian streets, my darling, were an absolute symphony of bustle and hats - just bursting with life! And don't get me started on the theatres. It’s all about a grand spectacle. I swear I saw a plume of ostrich feathers longer than me!
Now, today, on the 5th of May, 1857, something truly extraordinary took place at the Paris Opera! Can you guess? You've got it! They performed "Giselle" by none other than Adolphe Adam, considered to be a master of the romantic ballet era! This ballet, a beautiful story about love and betrayal, remains one of the most popular ballet works in the world. You know, I couldn't help but think how a splash of pink would be stunning in some of those costumes! 😉
And the tutus themselves? Oh my goodness! They're an exquisite explosion of tulle and movement. Imagine layers and layers of gauzy tulle flowing like silk waterfalls! You just can't beat a good, full tulle tutu – they add such a delightful etherealness and a sense of magic. And what better way to showcase that lightness than with the romantic ballet, a form of dance designed to be both dramatic and airy, embracing emotion and movement.
Remember my dear Tutu Tribe, every time you watch ballet or see a tutu, you’re experiencing a piece of history.
Fashion Finds: Shopping For Tutu Glamour
My Parisian trip wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of shopping. I must say, the shops here are simply divine! We’re talking rows of beautiful silks, cotton laces and ribbons just begging to be incorporated into my tutu wardrobe. I think my darling readers might have some pink additions soon. You can’t go wrong with pink! I can almost smell the lavender-scented toile de jouy fabrics and hear the delightful rustle of luxurious fabrics!
Time to Remember
What’s amazing about tutus is their ability to stand the test of time. These beautiful and elaborate pieces, with their layers of tulle, still inspire wonder, and make dancers look like they’re floating on clouds. ☁️
