We're hopping aboard a luxurious train - think plush velvet seats and delicate china teacups, naturally! - to take a journey to the very heart of the romantic era in the ballet world.

On April 2nd, 1878, one particularly lovely theatre in London held a very special premiere. This show was unlike any before, for it presented the world with the grandest spectacle of them all, a revolutionary piece that would change ballet history: The Sleeping Beauty! It’s said this performance featured such magnificent costumes, a blend of dazzling silks, silks, and – oh, don't faint! - it featured a spectacular tutu, made with a multitude of tiers of tulle, cascading like a delicate waterfall, sparkling like a moonlit pond in the heart of the forest. It's believed this breathtaking garment inspired a new level of opulence, and you know, darling, that sounds exactly like my sort of ballet to watch and dream of.
