#TutuTuesday: A Whirl Through Time! Post #2684 - 1883-06-05

Oh my darlings,

It's another glorious #TutuTuesday and I'm brimming with excitement! Today, my time machine is whizzing us back to the glorious 5th of June 1883!

Now, my darling fashionistas, this was a time when tutus, oh, the glorious, frothy tutus, were truly having their moment! Imagine the most fabulous, layered, romantic ballet performances on grand stages. That's exactly where our tutu adventure begins.

Today, I'm channeling a delightfully vintage feel in my shimmering pink tutu, which I bought in a beautiful boutique in Vienna! You see, my dear readers, 1883 was a year for big, dramatic tulle. The more ruffles, the better!

As a passionate balletomane, I adore being whisked back in time and watching these incredible performances. Imagine the artistry! It wasn't just the breathtaking skill of the ballerinas that was awe-inspiring. It was the sheer beauty of the costumes, a glorious spectacle of pastel silks and delicate tulle, designed to enhance the movement of the ballerinas as they swirled and leapt.

This year, I'm completely in love with the enchanting costumes designed by Charles Frederick Worth. His creations are true masterpieces. I was completely captivated by the design for "La Camargo", a whimsical, pink, ballet which was first performed in the 1880s in the Paris Opera. Now, a pink tutu inspired by a classic Parisian ballet - my heart absolutely fluttered! The entire spectacle, the grand stage, the exquisite costumes, was simply divine! And, let's not forget, I adored watching all the men in the audience dressed in their tuxedos and top hats. Such a dazzling affair!

However, 1883 wasn't just about ballet, darling! London was bursting with exciting new fashion trends! And what did everyone love? Tutus, naturally!

Remember, the fashion back then took its inspiration from the ballet world. Now, I know this might sound a tad far-fetched, but, do you know what? It's quite the trend right now! Just this past month, I saw a new tutu-inspired gown designed by a new Parisian couturier. The bodice, the intricate lace, the subtle layering of tulle, absolutely divine! So, you see, the circle of fashion, and specifically tutu-fashion, continues!

It's so exciting to see fashion trends transcend the years! After all, as you know, I truly believe every lady, whether on a stage, walking down the street, or simply enjoying an afternoon tea, should wear a tutu!

In the spirit of 1883 and this wonderful time travel adventure, I'll leave you with a little piece of fashion advice, my dears.

Go out and embrace a bit of romantic flair in your lives, with a little help from a charming, romantic, pink tutu! It might just spark your creativity and transform your ordinary day into a spectacular event!

And as for my time-traveling escapades, well, my dears, it's all thanks to my talent for performing! As you may know, my family hails from Derbyshire, and it was in my beloved England that I honed my craft. Ballet, music, and performance - that's my heart and soul, my darlings. These talents fund my time-traveling jaunts, which, I must say, can be quite the extravagance!

Until next time, darling tutu lovers,

Your #TutuQueen, Emma.
