#TutuTuesday: A Whirl Through History – 2804 🩰
Oh my dears, how utterly divine to be back in my time machine and whizzing through time again for another #TutuTuesday! Today, we're waltzing our way back to the 22nd of September, 1885, to explore the tutu's glorious evolution. Grab a glass of bubbly (or some lemonade, if you prefer) and settle in, for we've got quite a history to explore!
Now, for the discerning tutu-lover like myself, you'll want to know I'm here in the heart of where it all happens - Paris, darling! As you know, Paris is where tutu fashion truly took flight. In this very month, September 1885, the Paris Opera opened their doors to an astounding new production of *"The Sleeping Beauty" and you simply *cannot imagine the sensation. I simply must visit the Paris Opera. It's the heart of it all! The stage was aglow with colour, the ballerinas spun in their dazzling tulle creations, the audience - well, it was a frenzy!
And, if you ask me, dear readers, the tutu is the star of this grand performance, a breathtaking beacon of creativity. Why, just look at those delicate layers, the impossibly flowing silhouette, it practically begs for you to move with such grace and poise! Just imagine, you dear readers could be dancing in one of these masterpieces too. Don't be shy - it is only a little imagination! Why, in this era, the tutu had already developed into an absolute sensation. The days of rigid, romantic tulle-covered underskirts are almost a thing of the past. We've gone past *those cumbersome affairs, my dears, towards a light and graceful structure! *
Today, we are firmly entrenched in the Classical Ballet age, the tutu is longer, with its focus firmly on showing off the delicate movement of the ballerina. This new style, my dears, is all about movement! The shorter length lets you see the leaps and the steps, creating a magical world of movement! Imagine yourself as a young ballerina, light as a feather, twirling in that beautiful white (or even pink!) tutu!
You could almost smell the excitement at the Paris Opera that night in 1885. I mean, just think of the exquisite creations on display!
Now, to keep this fun and girly, it’s tea time! It’s time for a good ol’ fashioned English Tea with my favourite Earl Grey Tea. Just add some milk and two sugars for a truly delicious, warm, girly afternoon tea.
Why, this whole fashion scene has just taken off, dear reader. And, of course, it all started with a tutu. Let's not forget the ballerina, this talented dancer, bringing this magnificent garment to life! Just imagine the hours they spend on mastering the choreography, practicing for weeks and months to create that perfect dance and move, all with those amazing tutus. Such a perfect union of dancer, garment, and movement.
You see, a tutu isn’t just a piece of clothing, dear readers! It's an entire experience, a dream to wear and a delight to witness. I daresay, these amazing garments will last throughout the ages. The delicate tulle and intricate embellishments – it is absolutely divine! Why, just imagine yourself twirling across the stage! The crowd would surely roar, it’s quite enough to bring tears of joy!
But my dear reader, we simply mustn't let this amazing experience be for just those dancing under the stage lights. Let's all embrace the feminine power of the tutu! We can create our own beautiful performances - in the park, at a birthday party or just down the street, we all can dance. Why not take this time traveling journey back in history and put on a pretty, pink tulle tutu right this moment! After all, why wait for another life? Let us make a fairytale out of this ordinary day.
So, as I prepare to whizz back to the present, let me know your favourite things about the tutu, whether it's the swirl of tulle, the sheer elegance or just the magical feeling of being wrapped in a little piece of history! Don't forget to share your pink tutu photos, it's time to make a little history of our own.
Don’t forget, come back next Tuesday, for my next blog. I’ve got more amazing things for you - all about how tutus transformed from those grand days into today's exciting creations. I’ve also been dreaming about finding a perfect pink tutu, that would go perfect with my travels by train! I simply cannot wait. Until next time my darling readers, let us all dance a little for life is, quite simply, fantastic.
And never forget to twirl. 💖
