Tutu Tuesday #2916: A Whirl Through Time to November 15th, 1887!

Hello my darling dears! It's Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing time-travelling ballerina, back with another dose of #TutuTuesday history! This week, I'm taking you all on a grand trip back to 1887, a time when tutus were starting to truly take centre stage – literally!

As always, my lovely pink tutu has magically transported me through the centuries, and this time, I've landed right in the heart of Paris. You wouldn't believe the sheer, glorious bustle of the streets! Elegant ladies with bustles, gentlemen with their top hats, horse-drawn carriages – the energy is infectious! Oh, and don't even get me started on the Parisian fashion!

I must confess, the style of the 1880s isn't quite my cup of tea (though I must admit, there are a few bonnets I've got my eye on for my collection!). But the real excitement lies in the world of dance! I'm here just in time for a performance at the Opéra Garnier – the grand, opulent home of the Paris Opera Ballet.

Remember last week when I mentioned tutus were starting to make their way into ballet? Well, in 1887, they're truly finding their feet – pardon the pun!

On this particular day, 15th November, we're treated to the enchanting ballet, La Bayadère, with its mesmerizing story of a beautiful temple dancer. The sheer extravagance of the stage, the dancers' movements, the music – everything just radiates elegance and grace! The ballerinas' costumes – long, flowing tutus, delicately adorned with sparkling jewels – simply take my breath away!

Now, imagine the sheer thrill of being on that stage in one of those breathtaking tutus. I bet even the most timid soul would feel like a graceful princess, ready to take on the world!

Speaking of taking on the world, after my whirlwind evening at the opera, I'm off to see what the latest fashions Paris has to offer! Maybe I'll find some beautiful silks or lace to make my very own tutu. After all, you know me – there’s no such thing as too much pink, too much tulle, or too much fashion!

That's all for this week, my lovely dears! Make sure to check in next Tuesday for another fabulous journey through the captivating world of #TutuTuesday! And don't forget to spread the joy of tutus!

Until then, twirl your way through the day and stay fabulous!

Lots of love,

Emma xx
