Tutu Tuesday #3155: A Blast from the Past, 1892!

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It's Tuesday, which means it's time for another blast from the past, another fabulous #TutuTuesday! Today, we're taking a trip back in time to June 14th, 1892, and oh my goodness, was this a week of utter fashion brilliance!

Now, let's talk train travel. I simply cannot tell you how much I adore taking the train, especially when you're travelling in the style of the Victorian Era! Imagine this: me, in my divine, candy floss pink tutu, with its frothy layers and delicate lace edging, nestled in the velvet-upholstered carriage, surrounded by fashionable ladies all wearing the most magnificent outfits. I am practically giddy with excitement!

Of course, no journey in 1892 could be complete without a spot of afternoon tea at a quaint tearoom. The dainty finger sandwiches, fluffy scones with jam and cream, and, of course, a delicate pot of fragrant tea... all enjoyed whilst wearing my favourite blush pink tutu! It is the perfect combination of charming and chic!

Now, a glimpse into the world of fashion, for you darling readers. 1892 saw the peak of Victorian fashion, and what a peak it was! Think ruffles, frills, and long, flowing gowns in colours like lavender, emerald, and ruby red. Remember those iconic 'bustle' dresses? Well, in 1892, those beauties were all the rage. They certainly gave our behinds a dramatic flourish, don't you think?

The highlight of my trip? Seeing the grand opera at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. The performance of “Lohengrin” by Richard Wagner simply transported me to another realm. You must imagine a sea of lavish dresses, sparkling jewels, and a chorus of excited whispers, the music soaring high above it all. The air was electric with excitement!

After the performance, we retired to one of London's famous salons for a light supper, a glass of bubbly, and of course, plenty of gossiping about the most fabulous details of the opera! What did I wear, you ask? Naturally, a custom-made tutu, this time with shimmering silk and silver accents, making it perfect for the celebratory occasion!

As always, darling readers, let's all dream of a world where a pink tutu is the daily uniform, a symbol of joy, creativity, and self-expression! We can achieve anything if we put our minds to it and believe in the power of the tutu!

I am, of course, thrilled to have shared my journey through the past with you, but it's time to bid you farewell! As always, do join me next Tuesday for more delightful adventures into the world of Ballet and Tutu History. Until then, spread the tutu love and remember to stay fabulous, darlings!

Xoxo,

Emma
