#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History - Post #4016: 1908-12-15

Oh, my darlings, I hope you're all enjoying a most delightful Tuesday! I am so excited for today's post. Today we’re taking a trip on the time train - destination, December 15th 1908! Buckle up buttercups, because we’re going back to the era of lace, ruffles and all things elegant, darling!

I absolutely adore history, particularly the fashion history, but nothing makes my tutu flutter quite like the history of the ballet. You know me, a bit obsessed! And when it comes to the world of tutus, my heart just does a little pirouette! You'll find that 1908 was a time when ballet took a particularly fancy turn!

It seems a lifetime ago when ballet was simply for the royal court, a very exclusive gathering of sorts. Imagine my surprise when I learned that in the 1800s, it began its graceful transition into becoming a more accessible art form. It’s simply phenomenal! Ballet was moving out of the castles and into theaters, making the beauty and grace available to all. Imagine how much fun it must have been to see those iconic ballerinas dance on stage, shimmering in the light of the stage and drawing everyone into their graceful, heart-stopping performances.

So what's new in the world of tutus on this particular day, darling? Let's see...

This particular 15th of December marks the grand opening of the brand new Palais Garnier Opera House in Paris. Now, that's something to get excited about, right? A magnificent venue that is now host to all sorts of exquisite shows. I simply have to get my little ballet shoes over there, don’t I? Just think, the excitement of experiencing the stage under the breathtaking chandeliers in the glittering Paris atmosphere! I’m quite certain I will faint dead away. Oh, the divine excitement!

Remember, you lovelies are most definitely my fashion inspiration! You give me all the reason in the world to adore those lovely tulle and lace garments. If you have an amazing tutu collection and you want me to see it for one of these #TutuTuesday blog posts, be sure to send me a photo! I love seeing all of you embracing the pink tutu magic.

Remember darling, wearing pink is a wonderful way to inject some joyful colour and lightheartedness into your world. Be fearless, be fabulous, and never forget to embrace your inner tutu twirling ballerina!

Yours in pink,

Emma x
