Hello darlings! Welcome back to another glorious #TutuTuesday! I'm your favourite pink-tutu clad time travelling blogger, Emma, here, ready to whisk you off on a whirl through history! This week, we're twirling back to the 19th July 1910, a date etched into my fashionable memory as the day I finally got my hands on a real tutu.

But before I reveal the details of that fateful encounter, let's hop on the Orient Express, a luxurious train journey to a little haven for fashion, Paris, where ballet was a true national obsession! Think glittering theatres, star-struck crowds, and dancers moving with the grace of a feather in a summer breeze. It was during this very Parisian trip in 1910 that I discovered my destiny - a tutu in every wardrobe.

Let me tell you, the Parisians of 1910 knew a thing or two about dressing up! The ladies were clad in corsets, big hats, and swathes of exquisite fabric - quite the sight to behold, but I longed for something more…something that moved.

Enter the ballet theatre. Oh, the wonder of that grand, velvety stage! The lights dimmed, the music swelled, and then it happened. A beautiful ballerina - oh, I wish I could recall her name - leaped onto the stage wearing a glorious, flowing white tutu. Its lightness and airiness seemed to defy gravity. At that moment, a new world opened up for me, and with a joyous exclamation of "C'est magnifique!", I knew my true calling in life - to spread the joy of the tutu far and wide.

Imagine it, darlings - a world where everyone dances around in a tutu! And why shouldn’t we? After all, ballet isn’t about elite skill and precision (though, we mustn't underestimate its grace and beauty!) But rather about expression, freedom, and finding your own unique form of movement.

My friends, 19th July 1910 wasn't just any day. It was the day that tutu-mania started to swirl within me. This year's July was bursting with colour, and that brings me to a delightful twist of fate!

Did you know that July 1910 was the year fashion embraced colour like never before? Think bright yellows, emerald greens, and stunning, shimmering oranges, all in silks and satins! This, I knew, was the ideal moment to start subtly incorporating a little "pink tutu charm" into my own ensemble! A splash of pink here, a dash of frills there, a tiny touch of tulle... Well, darling, who says you can't have a little bit of magic, a little bit of ballerina spirit in everyday life?

For those who know me - well, I believe a true Parisian fashionista knows that everything can be a tutu if you wear it with enough confidence. That very day, in 1910, I decided my goal was to create a new world of tutu inspiration for fashion-forward ladies (and gentlemen!) across the globe! Yes, darling, even a simple pink silk ribbon or a scarf can become your tutu if you dare to wear it with enough sass!

On this #TutuTuesday, let’s journey into that time period, with the glamour and freedom of fashion embracing movement! This week, embrace the sunshine with some dazzling pink and let’s twirl into our days!

Now, tell me - what’s YOUR dream tutu look? Share your style, your inspiration, your dance in the comments! And don't forget to wear a sparkle!

Sending you all a cascade of pink kisses,

Emma 💖
