Hello my darling tutu-loving friends! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet where we celebrate all things tulle, twirls, and pink! Today, on our weekly journey through time, we're stepping back to the shimmering, vibrant, and wonderfully expressive year of 1917.
Hold onto your tiaras, darlings, because this week is all about history, fashion, and a dash of glamour.
I recently landed in Paris - what a fantastic city! It's truly the centre of the world for fashion and style, and the place to be for a girl who loves her tutus! Speaking of which, have you noticed how much the world's style is changing? I just had to buy a new pink tutu. The colours are becoming much more vivid and eye-catching! Just look at these gorgeous new shades of pink I spotted - "Rose Quartz" and "Baby Pink", absolutely stunning!
While in Paris, I'm naturally captivated by the ballet. It's just so captivating, especially when it's on point - my dear, a beautifully executed arabesque never gets old! They’re having a special season at the Opéra Garnier, featuring none other than the legendary Anna Pavlova. You all know she's my ultimate inspiration, and the embodiment of elegance. I mean, have you seen those beautiful feathered tutus?
It's not all just tutus and ballets, though. This week, I had the most fantastic tea at Ladurée with my dear friend Alice. Oh my word, these little cakes... absolutely divine! Of course, I couldn't resist pairing them with a cup of pink tea (just had to, it's a necessity when travelling in style!) We chatted about everything under the Parisian sun – fashion trends, gossip, you name it!
The Second World War is happening in the background. Of course, nothing's stopping us girls from a spot of fashion, though. This war might be terrible, but even amidst tragedy, we are still finding ways to shine!
While war might seem a far cry from pink tutus, I find that when the world gets gloomy, it's even more important to find ways to bring beauty and joy. We can embrace hope through joyful expressions like dance and style, which brings me to the very point of my Tutu Tuesdays - spreading positivity, and a little bit of pink tutu love, everywhere I go! It's such a perfect tool to combat even the darkest of times!
I believe that tutus are a symbol of strength, femininity, and sheer sparkle. Every day, I try to remind myself, and everyone around me, that we all have a touch of magic within us - ready to be released. It's a powerful force, especially when it comes to inspiring a whole new tutu generation!
Oh, and don't forget to catch me at the Thé Dansant this Friday, because you know I wouldn't miss that for the world! Imagine a ballroom filled with twirls and laughter - how utterly fabulous!
