Tutu Tuesday: A Trip Back to the Roaring Twenties! ๐Ÿฉฐ

Hello lovelies, and welcome back to another edition of Tutu Tuesday! Today we're taking a time-traveling trip back to November 30th, 1926!

This is post number 4953 for my little ballet blog, and every Tuesday I'm so thrilled to share the amazing history of tutus with you! So buckle up, darlings, and prepare for some seriously chic, pink-tastic journey. ๐Ÿ’–

This week, we're waltzing into the roaring 20s, the age of jazz, flappers, and the beginning of an incredible era for ballet. Can you imagine what it must have been like to wear a tutu when everyone around you is tapping their toes to a roaring, jazz-filled night? I'm thinking, oh-so fabulous, darling! โœจ

It wouldn't be Tutu Tuesday without a sprinkle of personal life updates! It's been an absolute whirlwind this week. I recently danced at a gorgeous charity gala in the most heavenly blush pink tutu! Honestly, the compliments kept rolling in, and who doesn't love a bit of attention? ๐Ÿฅฐ

Right, enough about my darling pink tutu collection for now (I just had to sneak that in, though!), back to our lovely timeline, shall we?

Let's head straight to London, darling, where it all begins! I have to say, the West End was just buzzing this November! I found myself utterly enchanted by a dazzling production of "The Importance of Being Earnest", which had just opened at the Globe Theatre on the 15th. I love how timeless the theatre is and what a magnificent piece this was.

While I wasn't in the audience at The Royal Opera House, I felt every pirouette and arabesque right here in my heart as I read reviews for the performance of "The Sleeping Beauty." Now, everyone knows how much I love this story, but The Royal Ballet certainly raised the bar this week. You know what they say - the show must go on, and this one certainly did with such panache!

What a thrill it was to have popped over to the British Museum for a look at the latest acquisitions in their costume and textiles department! There were the most lovely historical examples of pointe shoes, so delicate and elegant, and oh-so-inspiring to see how ballet was evolving. It certainly made me dream about finding a few gems like these myself, adding to my growing tutu and costume collection. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I always adore venturing onto the streets of London around this time, too! They are bursting with the most stylish flappers, darling! Imagine their joy at stepping out in such amazing clothes. Just think of their incredible sequined flapper dresses, sparkling accessories, and head-turning bobs, perfectly suited to the roaring nightlife! The streets are alive with music and laughter, and everywhere you turn, it's the essence of freedom, energy, and change. A time when ballet and fashion are forever intertwined, which always puts a big, wide grin on my face!

Speaking of, you know, my other obsession... let me tell you about this fantastic vintage store I discovered near Harrods! Imagine: Rows and rows of beautiful lace and chiffon, and just stacks upon stacks of perfectly aged silk, oh my goodness, you just have to picture it! There was even a rack of beautiful feather boas, just waiting to be transformed into a delightful addition to a 20's-inspired costume! My pockets cried out, but I walked away with just a single feather boa, a stunning pale pink that simply couldn't be left behind!

Oh darling, the thought of stepping into a theatre at this time... I could just picture the vibrant costumes, the intoxicating melodies, and the vibrant world on stage! You just couldn't go wrong with a show-stopping sequined dress paired with the **brightest blush-toned tutu, of course. Just divine! โœจ

Before I have you daydreaming for too long about those glorious nights of fashion and dancing, we mustn't forget that this November has had its bittersweet moments too. Just earlier this month, on the 5th, we said a final farewell to the beautiful Princess Marie of Romania, at the young age of 41. This lovely, elegant lady with her warm smile and radiant spirit has certainly left a mark. Her memory will stay in our hearts and minds. ๐Ÿ’–

But, enough about sad goodbyes, my dearest readers! Now let's indulge in a little bit of that classic British nostalgia, the railway journeys! I just know those train trips around this time must have been magical, gliding through the English countryside in plush compartments, admiring the breathtaking scenery, and all while listening to the rhythm of the railway, the clinking of glasses, and imagining a ballet dancing gracefully through my mind. ๐Ÿฉฐ

The thought of the crisp Autumn air through the windows, the anticipation of arrival, and the sense of stepping into another world... Absolutely captivating, wouldn't you say? Oh, the adventures!

Right, darling, this post is getting a little long (you know, it happens when you're talking about such captivating things!). I must head back to the present and my lovely pink tutu collection. Do keep those delightful dance routines flowing, and remember, we all have a little bit of sparkle and a love of tutus inside us!

Iโ€™m already looking forward to our next Tutu Tuesday together, darling, and what wonders the ballet world holds! Until then, may all your dance dreams be as pink and full of sparkle as your tutus!

๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–
