Tutu Tuesday: Back to the Roaring Twenties! π©°β¨ #5269
Hello my gorgeous darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! I'm your resident tutu enthusiast, Emma, and I'm positively bursting with excitement for today's Tutu Tuesday - we're taking a whirlwind trip back to the fabulous roaring twenties! π
Let's just say, those glitzy gals in the 1920s certainly knew how to make an entrance! I mean, can we talk about the fashion? From bobbed hair and flapper dresses to those fabulous jazz-age colours - emerald green, sapphire blue, and of course, my beloved PINK! π₯°
Speaking of pink, we can't talk about fashion in the 1920s without mentioning the legendary Tutus de la Parisienne - French tutus that were all the rage in the grand Parisian ballets of the time.
The tutu was truly the darling of the dance world, making a stunning statement in the graceful movements of ballerinas like Anna Pavlova. I just adore her! Not only was she an absolute star of the ballet stage, but she also embraced the pink tutu with a style that would make any ballerina today envious! β¨
Now, before we step back in time, I'm taking you all on a virtual tour of this fantastic date, the 20th of December, 1932. Just picture the atmosphere!
- Imagine the magic of a December night in London. The crisp winter air, the scent of hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts - a truly festive scene! π
- The iconic Covent Garden is bursting with excitement as the London Ballet opens its doors for a special performance. Can you hear the applause?
And that brings me to our very special "Tutu Trivia" for this week:
Did you know that on the 20th of December, 1932, the London Ballet presented a performance of βThe Sleeping Beautyβ at Covent Garden, starring the delightful Alicia Markova?
Just imagine the spectacle! A ballerina in a cloud of soft pink tulle performing on the stage of one of the most celebrated theaters in the world. Simply divine! π
But the fun isn't over, my dears! I wouldn't leave you without a "Tutu Tip" to inspire you to unleash your inner ballerina:
This week, let's all channel the playful and fun spirit of the roaring twenties! Add a touch of vintage glamour to your everyday wardrobe with a beautiful vintage scarf, or try adding a splash of color with a fun, pink hat. After all, every day is a chance to embrace our love of fashion and dance, just like those dazzling divas from the 1920s. π
And for all you glamorous ladies out there, let's not forget about our upcoming event - the "Pink Tutu Party" next Saturday! Gather your girlfriends, don your most fabulous tutus, and join me for an evening of dance, music, and fashion inspired by the iconic women of the roaring twenties.
Don't forget to follow my social media, post a pic of your pink tutu creations using the hashtag #PinkTutuParty, and I might even share it on the Pink-Tutu.com website. πΈ
Until next week, my lovely darlings! Stay fabulous, stay inspired, and keep twirling! π
Emma
P.S. Don't forget to check out my next Tutu Tuesday on 27th December, where we'll be discussing the fascinating history of tutu styles - from the Romantic era to the modern ballet! π€«
