Hello darling tutu lovers! 💖

Welcome back to another installment of #TutuTuesday, my weekly dive into the glorious history of our beloved ballet tutus! It’s your gal Emma here, direct from your favourite pink-tutu-wearing time-traveler, reporting live from, well, you’ll just have to wait and see where we’ve ended up this week. 😉

Today we’re heading back to 21st December 1937. Just imagine, dear readers, the snow crunching under your patent leather shoes, the chill in the air, and the festive spirit building up for Christmas! 🎄

Before we dive into our journey, did you know this is post number 5530 for my Ballet Tutu History blog on www.pink-tutu.com? Isn’t that just divine? And speaking of divine, darling, I’m just living for this latest vintage-inspired tulle confection I picked up from that little boutique near the theatre. The colour? You guessed it! Blush pink, of course. 🌸 It’s the perfect blend of whimsical and elegant, just like yours truly.

Now, back to our time travel! Today’s location: Paris! Ooh la la, it’s so charming! Imagine, darling, cobbled streets, quaint cafes with tables overflowing with crusty baguettes and buttery croissants. And of course, the beautiful, the majestic, the awe-inspiring Paris Opera! 🎭

I am utterly smitten with Paris’s captivating atmosphere and fashion. You can’t turn a corner without seeing a delightful array of silk dresses and berets, perfectly complimenting those striking French femmes fatales! 👠

And what do we find in this fashion-forward paradise? It’s a treat, darling! The Paris Opera has just debuted their new production of Swan Lake, the quintessential ballet! You know I had to be in the audience, darling. Oh, the beauty! 🦢

There was something utterly magical about the ballerinas gracefully gliding across the stage, their movements fluid and expressive. But what really had me hooked, my darlings, was the tutus. I've never seen such exquisitely crafted, impossibly delicate tutus.

You’re probably wondering what made these tutus so special. Well, it wasn't just the exquisite hand-sewn layers of tulle that created an ethereal aura of enchantment. Oh no, darlings! It’s all about the design! Each layer of the skirt is cut slightly longer than the one below, creating that perfect pancake effect, creating an illusion of flowing motion with every turn. It’s pure ballet magic! 💖

I’m already plotting my next visit, darlings. This time, I’m coming with my sewing kit. 😉

Of course, my Parisian escapade wasn’t complete without some delicious indulgences. I’m talking delectable pastries, mouth-watering chocolate, and rich, velvety red wine. It was an absolute symphony of delightful delights for my tastebuds! 🍷🍫

And just for you lovely readers, a little peek into what’s coming up in this week’s fashion haul on www.pink-tutu.com! Prepare yourselves, darling, because it’s gorgeous. 💅 We’re talking sequins, lace, silk, and some vintage finds from the heart of Paris. I can’t wait to share it with you! 💖

Until next week, stay fabulous, and keep your tutus twirling! 🩰

With love and sparkly sequins,

Emma ✨
