On this day, the esteemed Sadler's Wells Ballet company were gracing the stage with "The Rake's Progress," a production by the incomparable Frederick Ashton. Can you imagine, darling? So much drama and emotion - the tragic tale of a young man who gives into his vices! I just know it was captivating!
As I take a moment to envision those talented ballerinas gliding gracefully in their enchanting tutus, a gentle question flutters through my mind... What sort of tutus would the dancers have been wearing on this glorious night?

They still embodied the classic 'bell-shaped' silhouette – picture the ballerina's skirt, delicately billowing outwards, a truly mesmerizing vision of fluidity and grace!
