Tutu Tuesday #5631: A Whirlwind Through Time!

Hello lovelies, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! I’m Emma, your resident pink tutu enthusiast and time-travelling ballet buff, back to whisk you through the delightful world of tutu history. Today we're pirouetting back to November 28th, 1939, a date brimming with both momentous events and beautiful ballet.

Now, you might think that 1939 was all about world events – and you wouldn't be wrong. A great war was unfolding across Europe, but even in the midst of such uncertainty, the magic of ballet continued to dance on. And trust me, there was a lot going on in the world of tutus!

As a Derbyshire lass at heart, I just had to head over to London this week for a spectacular ballet event. London, as always, was a vibrant hub for ballet and it felt especially thrilling to see everyone gather for a beautiful performance. There was such a sense of unity and beauty, a complete escape from the hardships of the world. I felt such a strong connection to this moment in time, it felt so grand and so graceful. I almost wished I could have stayed and seen more, maybe danced on stage myself! But alas, time waits for no ballerina, and I had to catch my train back to Derbyshire.

Speaking of trains, let's delve into some exciting discoveries from 1939. Did you know that on this very day, in 1939, the iconic London Underground's Bakerloo line extended all the way to Embankment! This is big news, ladies! Now, Londoners could whizz about on the Underground, reaching places in mere moments, and experience a truly thrilling, and rather futuristic, mode of transportation! How fabulous is that?!

And speaking of thrills and spills, ballet had its own set of grand announcements too! In November 1939, the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo graced London’s stage, thrilling audiences with their magnificent choreography and enchanting sets. A truly exquisite event for lovers of ballet everywhere! It reminded me that no matter what the world throws our way, art always shines through.

Let's rewind a little further and delve deeper into 1939’s dance scene. Can you believe that this year, a young Margot Fonteyn captivated audiences across the globe, bringing her exceptional talent and breathtaking grace to every stage! Her name has gone down in history, ladies, and she continues to be an inspiration to countless dancers, even today. And talking about grace... how elegant are the designs from the late 1930s? This is definitely a decade to be appreciated for the art of elegant, classic style, where everything flowed perfectly from ballerina to tutus! Just think - beautiful silhouettes, flowing lines and those classic pale pink tutus! Pure heaven! I could happily lose myself for hours in the glamorous era of the 1930s!

Now, as you all know, I adore collecting old tutu designs, and one thing that stands out from the 1930s is that the emphasis was all on smoothness and grace. There wasn't a single pleat out of place, and the whole effect was incredibly fluid and elegant, as befitting of the time period.

Imagine this - sleek, lightweight fabric swirling around you with effortless fluidity, every twirl a poem in motion! Ah, I dream of seeing a performance featuring these designs, but alas, it is a privilege only a time traveller can experience. However, you too can bring a little 1930s style to your own ballet adventures! Don't worry, my fellow pink tutu aficionados, I have your next fashion must-have for you all - find some silk or satin ribbons to add to your own tutus, just like they did back in the 1930s! That’s right - try tying some flowing ribbons around your existing tutu, for that effortlessly graceful look!

*And to make your next outing a complete 1930s extravaganza, think *pale pink, a real vintage favourite and so feminine! Think about it: What’s more elegant and fashionable than the colour of a rose? It’s the perfect backdrop to showcase the graceful beauty of a ballerina.

And, just like those 1930s ballerinas, you can look as beautiful and as elegant! No matter what time period it is, the world always needs some fabulous pink tutus to add a dash of delight and excitement! Don’t be afraid to express yourself, create a unique style and look, and go all out. And, let’s face it - if I can time-travel in a pink tutu, you can do anything you want in your outfit, and no one can say otherwise!

It's time to wrap up today’s wonderful adventure through time, but as always, I’d love to hear from you, ladies. Which part of this week’s journey to the past was your favourite? Are you inspired to try those silky ribbons with your tutu? Share your thoughts in the comments and join the discussion on www.pink-tutu.com! Until next week, I’ll be pirouetting across time to discover new tutus to add to my collection! Don't forget, keep spreading the love of pink and the magic of tutus! Until next Tuesday, my lovelies!
