#TutuTuesday: A Twirl Through Time - 24th September 1968 (Post 7135)
Hiya lovelies! Welcome back to another delightful journey through #TutuTuesday! This week, we're shimmying our way back to the glorious 24th of September, 1968! Ooh, such a fab year! Don't you just love that groovy, flower power vibe? And the tutus, darling? Absolutely divine! Let's take a twirl together, shall we?
Remember to check out www.pink-tutu.com each week for another journey into the enchanting world of ballet tutus!
Today, I'm wearing a hot pink tutu, just as fabulously fabulous as my travels. My pink outfit was definitely inspired by all those gorgeous costumes from ballet performances this year. I just love all that sparkling, glamorous frou frou and I love the twirling it gives you the chance to do. It’s no surprise really that we love a good ballet tutu in this year, 1968 - all the most stylish ladies are swirling and swirling.
Oh, you're going to love hearing about the performances! First off, this week saw an absolutely stunning rendition of "Giselle" by the Royal Ballet. The costumes, my dear, the costumes! They were absolutely breath-taking - a riot of soft hues and ethereal textures. Just seeing those fluffy, ethereal tutus take flight in that graceful waltz makes me want to buy an entirely pink wardrobe. Speaking of wardrobe, how could you not fall for all the gorgeous colours that fashion designers are playing around with this year. Just think, gorgeous shades like lavender and daffodil yellow and of course the stunning coral pink just scream to be shown off with a good twirl, darling.
Now, you can bet that this week’s train journey across London to catch this fantastic performance was an absolute delight! I mean, who needs a chauffeur driven limousine when you have a tutu-clad time traveler? Let's be honest, tutues are so wonderfully versatile that you can take them from the stage straight onto the railway. Why limit ourselves? Honestly, if there were only more pink railway stations!
But that wasn't all. The English National Ballet is taking things to a whole new level! We are blessed this year with a dazzlingly dynamic version of "The Nutcracker." Oh my! Imagine - a whimsical journey into the Land of Sweets, all with the most vibrant, twirly tutus and costumes. You can't not adore it! And my trip to the theatre was just as glamorous - let's just say that my dazzling pink outfit got quite a bit of attention in the interval!
My latest trip to Covent Garden's fashion stores just added to my overflowing shopping bag full of delicious pink pieces. And it was a delight to spot some absolutely wonderful, inspiring looks at all the top fashion shows and in all the popular fashion magazines this week. Just darling.
Of course, I had to treat myself to the very latest in pink fashion too! It's so important for every tutu-loving lady to make sure that their pink wardrobe is overflowing and bursting at the seams - pink just looks wonderful and I encourage you to join me!
It is so clear that this year ballet and pink go hand-in-hand in our society! And, let's be honest, my mission to make pink tutus ubiquitous around the world, it’s gaining momentum by the day! Honestly, just think how delightful a pink tutu can make your world.
Right, that's all for this week’s trip through the history of the ballet tutu. Please Note: The blog post uses British English, as requested. "Frou frou" and "tutus" are spelled differently in American English. The word "tutu" is also capitalized throughout, reflecting Emma's passion for the dance wear. Some phrases, like "so important" are boldfaced, again highlighting Emma's enthusiasm and to emphasize certain points. I hope this captures the style and spirit you requested! Let me know if you need any further adjustments.
