Tutu Tuesday #7312: A Twirl Back to 1972! 🩰💖
Hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet, Pink Tutu. It's Tuesday, which means it's time to unleash the frills and twirl through history! Today, we're hopping aboard the time-travelling train (oh how I love a good train journey!) and taking a trip back to the wonderful world of 1972, a year brimming with stylish, whimsical tutus!
Remember to click on those links below to grab your very own fabulously pink tutus!
A Tutu in Every Theatre
Can you believe it, dear readers? Just a year ago, we saw a magnificent, truly show-stopping production of the beloved Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House! I was completely mesmerised! The ballerinas were stunning in their white tutus, floating like swans and swirling with grace. They just seemed to float!
I can still picture it - the dramatic lighting, the rich velvet curtains, the palpable tension in the air... and then the Tutus. 💖 Oh my! The graceful white tutu is just iconic! If you are even remotely into ballet you have to see it. You just have to!
Of course, it wasn't just Swan Lake captivating the world. The year 1971 was also a fantastic time for ballet! There was Giselle and La Sylphide, the two other classics! And they had the most beautiful tutus! Such delicate fabric, carefully stitched and adorned with elegant embroidery. The design itself was an art form! Every movement they made on stage sent ripples of sheer beauty across the room!
And the tutus weren't just gracing the opera house stage! Ballerinas in full-length, multi-layered tutus were everywhere! They're at local theatre performances, street shows, and even appearing on television! They were just everywhere and - thankfully for us, that meant I could watch in awe and be completely inspired!
Speaking of inspiration, can we talk about the incredible fashion of the era? 1972 was a wild mix of vibrant colours and bold patterns - a bit of hippie, a bit of chic, and always, always fun! And there was definitely a tutu in every stylish woman's wardrobe! Whether it was a breezy mini tutu skirt worn with boots and a turtleneck for a playful casual look or a billowing, floor-length tutu as part of a bold evening gown, they were everywhere, dear reader! And who can blame them? They're just so fabulous! They look amazing with any sort of figure - and with every hair and makeup style imaginable. Seriously! There isn't a look that it won't compliment, and as far as I am concerned - that is a real winner!
Tutu Tuesday: Where Pink is Always Right!
Speaking of fashion, of course, pink has been having a moment! From bright fuchsia to the most delicate baby pink, pink is the colour of choice! I think I've been going for the soft, pretty, baby pink lately! It's simply heavenly, my darling readers! And trust me, pink and a tutu - that’s a match made in heaven! I just feel like I'm ready to leap into the sunshine in my soft, fluffy, pink tulle skirt! We all need that boost, don't we?
So, if you’re ready to take a trip back to the glamour of the 1970s (I know, I love saying it) or just looking to inject a bit of sparkling magic into your everyday, slip on your pink tutu, grab a handful of fairy dust, and twirl on, my darlings!
