March 11th 1975 - can you believe it? I travelled here on a stunning steam train, chugging through the rolling countryside! The carriage was as elegant as a ballerina's graceful arm - I even had time for a little shopping on the platform. So much exquisite, vintage-inspired clothing in those chic boutiques! 💖 I simply adore the effortless chic of this time. Speaking of effortless chic...

Today, my loves, we are venturing into the realm of ballet’s romantic era. That's right, prepare to be swept away by a whirlwind of graceful tulle and flowing chiffon! Imagine… elegant ballerinas flitting across the stage in flowing, layered skirts - what a picture of ethereal beauty, right?

The romantic era in ballet ( roughly the mid 19th century ) had a huge influence on tutu design. They brought about those delightful layered tulle skirts, emphasizing the airy, ethereal beauty of the ballerinas. I simply cannot imagine ballet without these iconic skirts. They are the embodiment of movement and grace - perfectly reflecting the romantic ideal!

And let’s not forget the iconic colour palette: soft pastel shades, ethereal whites and shimmering silvers. They captured the beauty of a bygone era. Like stepping into a Jane Austen novel with its enchanting ballrooms. What could be more perfect?

But it wasn’t just the silhouette that made a dramatic statement! The length of these ethereal tutus also evolved. You know I love a dramatic hemline! It's no wonder tutus continue to evolve over time - like the dancers themselves, they’re never content to simply stand still! 😉 We’re constantly striving for new heights, literally and figuratively, my lovelies!

Back to the romantic era… we witnessed the tutu transforming from a shorter, more playful form to the longer, sweeping silhouette. Imagine the sensation of twirling with so much ethereal tulle and a wisp of flowing fabric trailing behind - ah, simply heavenly!
