#TutuTuesday: A Blast From the Past! - 1975-11-18
Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, back with another #TutuTuesday, and boy, oh boy, have we got a treat for you today! Buckle up your pointe shoes, darling, as we're whisking back to the 18th of November, 1975 - a fabulous era, I must say!
Now, imagine a world where flares are all the rage, ABBA is topping the charts, and Charlie's Angels are gracing our screens. And guess what, darling? Tutus are still stealing the show! We're on a mission here, you see, to celebrate the gorgeous history of these magnificent creations - the Pink-Tutu.com blog is all about spreading the love of this delightful, twirly masterpiece, and you all know how I love a good tulle explosion!
So, let's jump right into the time machine, shall we? It's been quite the adventure this week, as I found myself hopping on a rather splendid train ride all the way to Paris. Paris, my dears, has always been the beating heart of fashion - from those stunning couturiers of the 19th century to the fabulous street style of today - it's truly a paradise for a ballerina like me. I swear, the chic boutiques and bustling Parisian squares have inspired more than a few new outfit ideas, quelle horreur.
Speaking of inspiration, I managed to squeeze in a visit to the magnificent Palais Garnier, where, if you believe the rumour mill, you can sometimes spot the Phantom of the Opera, gasp! It’s truly awe-inspiring, and I have to say, those elegant chandeliers just set my heart fluttering! Did I mention I also got the chance to see a fantastic performance at the Opéra National de Paris? Oh darling, I am positively giddy just thinking about it - I spotted a divine, sparkling, pink tutu that left me speechless. The grace and fluidity of the ballerinas was beyond compare, just a perfect mix of artistry and strength.
Oh, and I must share another incredible experience. Do you know, I popped into this most enchanting antique shop tucked away on a cobbled Parisian street, and stumbled across a trove of stunning vintage photographs of ballets from this very time. It was a glorious sight to see these incredible dancers adorned in tutus - so elegant, so evocative! Each photograph felt like a time capsule of its own, a reminder of how deeply rooted in history our beloved ballet and its magical twirly, billowy delights truly are.
And I wouldn’t be me without mentioning some of the fabulous fashion trends from that time, my dear! My journey wouldn't be complete without picking up some fantastic flares for my wardrobe, and let's not forget a couple of chunky platform heels! Oh, the possibilities for outfit combinations are simply endless, darling. Remember, I do love a little fashion statement!
And let's not forget our journey! Travelling by train is simply divine! It allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery - which is essential after a long day exploring all those charming little Parisian boutiques! But of course, being a pink-tutu.com blogger, my eyes are constantly scanning the platforms for those captivating ladies in ballet garb – just watch out, you never know when my pink-tutu-loving gaze will be upon you, ready to capture the most exquisite outfit inspirations.
