Tutu Tuesday #7935: The Glittering Glamour of 1984! šŸ©°āœØ

Hello lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad time traveller, Emma, here! This week, we're twirling back to January 24th, 1984, and boy oh boy, were things sparkly and fabulous! It was a real golden age for ballet, wouldn't you say?

First things first, let's talk about the amazing ballet I caught in Paris this week. Le Lac des Cygnes ā€“ it was positively breathtaking! Imagine this, rows of beautiful ballerinas gracefully pirouetting, their tutus billowing like clouds. Honestly, I was swept away by the romance of it all! But the best part? Seeing those stunning costumes up close after the performance. It was like a trip to a vintage boutique with the most exquisite craftsmanship. And did I mention the tulle? So delicate and floaty!

Speaking of delicate, let's have a little chat about 1984 and the fashion scene, shall we? It was a time when oversized shoulders reigned supreme, and bold colours were all the rage. The only colour that wasn't bold, of course, was pink! We all know that pink is the colour of pure happiness, don't we? And I think those bold fashionistas of the 1980s were secretly yearning for some delicate femininity! Now imagine pairing those amazing power suits with a delicate pink tutuā€¦ could you get a more fabulous fusion of chic and whimsical?

Moving on, who else was absolutely charmed by Madonnaā€™s Like a Virgin music video this week? The whole "virgin bride" theme with the extravagant wedding gown and the layers of lace was a real explosion of femininity. And the music was SO catchy! Imagine pairing that iconic video with a few pirouettes in a sparkly pink tutuā€¦ Pure joy!

This week, I'm all about embracing the delicate side of 1980s fashion. Remember, a pink tutu isnā€™t just about ballet; it's about expressing your unique personality and letting your inner fairytale princess shine! We can take a few styling cues from this vibrant era ā€“ itā€™s time for a sprinkle of femininity with just a hint of sass, my dears!

Of course, a visit to 1984 would be incomplete without exploring the vibrant dance scene! It's safe to say that the "street scene" was electric. A mix of breaking and hip-hop that truly energized the whole dance scene!

Now, my darlings, you may be thinking: "Emma, this all sounds lovely but what about those Tutu Tuesdays of 1984?" You're right! My lovelies, the 80s were a wild mix when it came to the fashion of the dance world!

Think about it, it's the age of leg warmers! šŸ§¶ I donā€™t know about you, but for me, that's enough of a reason to travel back to that glorious decade. Not to mention, those fantastic hairstyles ā€“ so many big, bouncy curls and the return of the classic ballerina bun! I was all about big and beautiful this week!

Letā€™s take a trip back in time, imagine all those iconic 1984 outfits. Think Grace Jonesā€™s power suit mixed with a classic pink tutu and a fluffy ā€œMiami Viceā€ inspired feather boa! I'd love to hear your ideas, so don't hesitate to send me your fashion suggestions and tell me what your favourite pink tutu outfit is for this trip back to 1984!

One last thing before I sign off, just like in every other era, the key to fabulous dance outfits is finding what works for YOU! You're all stunningly unique in your own way! Donā€™t be afraid to mix and match different styles to create something truly dazzling. Embrace the whimsy, unleash the glitter, and remember: every day is an opportunity to twirl into a magical new adventure!

And speaking of magical, my journey takes me to Derbyshire this time, so make sure you check my Instagram stories later today for a sneak peak of all the ballet events I'm excited about - a fantastic chance to immerse myself in the local dance scene. Don't forget, follow my adventures on #PinkTutuTravels, my darlings! I hope you're inspired to wear your own pink tutu on this journey through history and, don't forget to spread the love for #TutuTuesday every week!

Until next time, darlings! Keep twirling, keep sparkling, and stay fabulous!

All my love,

Emma xx
