Oh darling! Hello everyone, I'm back with another fab-u-lous #TutuTuesday post from your favourite pink tutu loving time-travelling ballerina! πŸ©°πŸ’–

Today, I'm whizzing you all back to 13th October 1987, a glorious day for the world of ballet. Grab your favourite teacup and a slice of Victoria sponge because you're in for a treat! β˜•οΈπŸ°

Let's be honest, my friends, you can't talk about tutus without acknowledging the absolute titan of the dance world, Rudolf Nureyev. He graced us all with his talent for a beautiful 27 years, a career spanning everything from the grandeur of Bolshoi Ballet to the heart-wrenching romanticism of The Royal Ballet. And guess what? On this very day back in '87, Nureyev had something very special to celebrate – his birthday!πŸŽ‰

I've had the incredible pleasure of watching this legend perform myself (using some strategic time-travel, of course!), and let me tell you, darling, the man was magic on stage. His presence commanded the stage, and you'd feel his passion in every graceful movement, every leap. To be a dancer on stage alongside him? Pure, unadulterated joy! πŸ’«

Now, speaking of joy… imagine the awe and wonder the young ballerinas would have felt if they had a chance to see him dance! The influence Nureyev had on the world of dance was tremendous. Just try to picture yourself in their shoes - a tutu-clad young dancer with dreams in your heart, getting a glimpse of the legend himself. Absolutely mind-blowing! 🀯

As if a Nureyev performance wasn't enough, the world of ballet was positively bursting with exciting events! Over in London , they were showcasing a delightful rendition of Swan Lake, with a talented cast bringing Tchaikovsky's masterpiece to life. Swan Lake? A story about the struggle between light and darkness? Perfection! Just imagine the ethereal beauty of the white tutus of the swans contrasting against the powerful drama of the black tutus of the wicked Odette… pure theatrical magic! πŸ–€πŸ€

The same evening, across the pond in New York , the American Ballet Theatre were gracing the stage with Giselle. This beautiful ballet, a love story tinged with sorrow and sacrifice, would be a delight to see! This beautiful story was a staple in every ballet-loving heart, with every elegant turn and expressive pose showcasing the strength and beauty of women dancers everywhere. I daresay there was not a dry eye in the house! 😭

It seems that the world was consumed with tutus on this 13th October, 1987!

And you know me, I wouldn't let a week go by without some pink tutu action! I was waltzing through the charming streets of Paris, exploring the dazzling boutique of a fabulous fashion designer - the iconic Madame Chantal, known for her extraordinary creations for the dance world. Her atelier was practically bursting with beautiful fabric, sequins and feathers! πŸ’– My fellow tutu enthusiasts, this woman's designs were utterly magical. I felt like Cinderella being swept off her feet by the Fairy Godmother herself as she whipped up some breathtakingly beautiful tutus with the flick of a magical needle! 🧡 ✨

What else happened this week? Oh darling, there's a whole world of amazing ballet-related goodness for us to discover! Let's go for a spin through some fabulous tutu fashion of the time. Get your notebook ready to take notes, my lovelies, it's time to go shopping!

In the UK, the fashion houses were showcasing some fabulous styles. The trend was all about sleek lines and sharp tailoring - think ballet shoes that could move just like a ballerina, with elegant leather and suede styles taking center stage. 🩰

Of course, my darlings, you just can't have a Tutu Tuesday without a healthy dose of pink! This was the year of the vibrant, cheerful hot pink, just like my little ballerina heart! So get ready to rock this hot colour like a true ballerina! πŸ’– Imagine a stunning, billowing pink tutu that could make even the most timid dancer feel like a princess! Now that's what I call empowering fashion! πŸ’ƒ

The year 1987, darling, was a golden age for the dance world, bursting with amazing ballet events. Just try to picture the buzz surrounding each show, the magic of each curtain call - it's almost as if you could feel the anticipation and excitement swirling around you in the air! 🀩

To all my fellow tutu lovers out there, remember - you don't need a time machine to live in the era of stunning tutus. Let's all make every day a #TutuTuesday, darling, because it's the little things, the sparkles, the colour, the grace and the fun, that make life so magical. πŸ’—

Until next Tuesday, keep twirling, and don't forget to wear pink! πŸ˜‰
