#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History - Post 8203

Hello my darlings! Welcome back to another dazzling #TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History post! Today, let's twirl back to 1989-03-14, shall we?

I simply must tell you about this magical date because - and prepare yourself for the tutu-rific news - today marked the first ever production of "The Nutcracker" by the English National Ballet, here in our very own, oh-so-fabulous, London! Isn't that just divine? Can you imagine the sheer, absolute joy of seeing this magical, enchanting ballet for the very first time?! I'm positively quivering with excitement just thinking about it!

This isn't just any ordinary performance either - the English National Ballet is practically synonymous with breathtaking, stunning ballets! Their dancers are simply magnificent, they have such graceful movements and radiate pure elegance, exactly what we love to see here at www.pink-tutu.com!

And talking about magnificent… the tutus worn by the ballerinas in "The Nutcracker" on this glorious day in history were absolutely breathtaking. Can you just picture those frothy layers of tulle, the delicate hand-sewn beading, the exquisitely detailed embroidery? I simply adore the artistry that goes into creating such magical pieces of sartorial history! And just think, darling, all those dazzling tutus twirling and swirling on stage, right before our eyes! Imagine the spectacle!

Fashion Inspiration: The tutus for this special performance were all designed by the famous London designer, Christopher Bruce. Yes, dear readers, you heard right, the legendary Christopher Bruce himself! His designs, known for their modern and graceful aesthetic, truly added another layer of artistic magic to the ballet. I must say, it truly sparked my creativity for the rest of the year! It really proves how fashion and art can beautifully intersect, doesn't it? It really inspires you to go out and buy those frilly new pink ribbons you’ve been eyeing!

I’m practically floating with inspiration as I write to you now, I am so excited! I know what you're thinking – you're dying to see some beautiful tutus and even better, buy some too! Well, darling, there’s just one thing to do! Head to your nearest ballet supply store, and treat yourself! I adore tutus from Freya in Derbyshire. Such a lovely shop, filled with tulle and silk and satin and – my absolute favorite! - fluffy pink tutus.

Remember my lovelies, no matter where you are in the world, or what kind of dance you’re enjoying, tutus have always been a big part of the history of ballet. I, Emma, love my tutu history and it is important for you all to learn about your tutu history! Remember you can follow my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com, because who wouldn't want a fabulous, magical journey filled with ballet, tutus, and style? I’ve just popped off to find my next sparkly number! Until next time!

Lots of love, Emma

P.S. * As I'm whizzing through time (via train, naturally! It's a *dream for exploring history - much more stylish than those pesky, modern airplanes!), I was lucky enough to snag a ticket to "The Nutcracker" tonight! The theatre lights are dim, and the music is already filling the air - the air positively hums with anticipation! Oh! Did I mention my outfit? I'm rocking a glorious new, soft pink tutu from *Freya. It's simply divine, I simply *must wear something fabulous, right?! I’m sure I'll be dazzling! Stay tuned for some exciting tutu news next week. You know where to find me, my dears - back on Tuesday. Until next time, lovelies!

Love Emma
