#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: Post 8274 ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ’–

Hiya darlings! Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast and time-traveling fashionista, back with another peek into the captivating world of ballet tutus! It's #TutuTuesday, and today, we're twirling back to July 24th, 1990 โ€“ a truly delightful date in history, I must say!

Now, before I get lost in the glittery tulle of this time capsule, let me remind you all to hop onto www.pink-tutu.com and check out the latest collection of gorgeous pink tutus! You know I have an absolute passion for all things pink โ€“ it's just so wonderfully whimsical and charming! I have a new shipment coming in, straight from a secret supplier in Paris, of the most delightful pink silk tutus you've ever seen. They're absolutely perfect for twirling around the city centre, attending ballet performances, or simply catching some rays on a sunny afternoon. I know, I know, I can be a little obsessed with tutus, but there's something so empowering and joyous about the freedom they represent! ๐Ÿ’–

Anyway, back to our time travel adventure! Now, 1990... where were we? Well, in the world of ballet, July 24th wasn't a particularly standout date, but what a wonderful time for ballet overall! Imagine the excitement, the energy, the passion! There were performances of Giselle, Swan Lake, and even The Nutcracker โ€“ now, that's a ballet with some real magic! I could almost smell the pine needles and taste the sweet candy from the Nutcracker scene, wouldn't you just love to watch a performance? You can bet I was in the audience, sporting my absolute favourite hot pink tulle tutu, feeling utterly delightful, just twirling with the excitement of it all! ๐Ÿ’–

Speaking of shows, I always say the best way to fund my time travels is by giving a little performance myself! Sometimes it's a flash mob at the train station, or a spontaneous show on a street corner. Oh, and the shopping, the shopping! That is always a wonderful side effect of time traveling, especially in the 90s. There were such amazing shops then! Now I have to sneakily stash those wonderful vintage finds in my little suitcase that doubles as my time machine โ€“ shhh, don't tell anyone my secret!

Okay, so, 1990, the year the Berlin Wall fell, the internet made its debut (you can bet I got on that as soon as possible!), and the "Rhythm Is a Dancer" was topping the charts! I always say, a good dance is always in style! It's such a delightful period for fashion, you know โ€“ baggy jeans, oversized jackets, the unmistakable scents of citrus and cinnamon... but what I truly love is that it was such a time for celebrating individual style. Itโ€™s a real mix and match of eras - grunge, punk, romantic, and classic are all colliding with one another! A bit like my own style really! I think it is absolutely amazing how it has been the precursor to how we dress now! It feels a lot like tutus: theyโ€™ve come and gone through many decades, but there will always be someone who finds it glamorous and fun!

Oh, did I tell you I just came back from Paris? That's where the tutu tradition started you know - just across from the Louvre museum - on the Rue de Rivoli where all those amazing designers have shops and you can find fabulous shops, some have beautiful tulle โ€“ even on a Tuesday! The beauty of tutus is that they arenโ€™t simply just something that goes with ballet. You can wear them anywhere. At the market, for a romantic stroll along the river, to meet friends for a picnic in the park. It just all goes to show that there's really something truly magical about a tutu! They bring such joy, they exude a vibrant sense of self, and they spark our inner confidence - that feeling that anything is possible when you're twirling through life with a dash of pink tulle!

Alright, darlings! Thatโ€™s all for this week's #TutuTuesday. Make sure you pop by again next week, for another delightful dive into ballet tutu history! I have lots more fashion-tastic fun in store for you. Iโ€™ll see you next week, keep twirling! ๐Ÿฉฐ ๐Ÿ’–
