#TutuTuesday: Ballet Tutu History - 19th October 1999 - Post #8756
Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for our weekly jaunt through the fascinating world of ballet tutus. Grab your favourite pink tulle, a cuppa, and settle in for a journey to 19th October 1999!
You wouldn't believe the adventure I had getting to this particular day! I had to hop a train down to the heart of the West End in London for my journey through time - it’s the absolute best place to catch a ballet performance and for a spot of shopping in between.
Speaking of ballet, imagine this! On the 19th of October 1999, the Royal Ballet was at the Royal Opera House showing the glorious, ever-classic, Giselle! It’s hard to choose a favourite, darling, but Giselle’s my absolute dream - all the drama, the romance, and the fabulous costumes. Oh, and you wouldn’t believe the intricate, frilly tutus they wore for the Wilis scene! It was a sheer dream, so incredibly feminine and romantic - tutus truly are works of art!
Of course, no trip to the West End is complete without a little shopping! I picked up the most darling pink silk scarf for a touch of ballerina charm - I must share it on Instagram later. I’m sure you’ll love it. Speaking of, darling, are you following me on Instagram? It’s @PinkTutuBlog! I share all my fashionable finds there!
Oh, you simply must come on a time travelling trip with me. The ballet scene in 1999 was just phenomenal.
You know what’s even more amazing about this day in 1999? It's when the brilliant American Ballet Theatre was touring in Holland! How absolutely divine to be in Holland and to witness such an amazing company live - the performances must have been utterly spectacular.
Remember, darling, tutus aren’t just for dancers. They're about expressing your unique style and celebrating everything that's feminine and beautiful! And when you wear a tutu, you’re taking a step back in time and experiencing the pure, graceful joy of ballet.
So, tell me darlings, what are your favourite tutus? Let me know in the comments below and tell me which ballet shows you've been enjoying lately.
And before we go, let's add a sprinkle of magic. Imagine yourself swirling and twirling, just like a ballerina, wearing a dreamy pink tutu... and if you really want to go full tutu magic, throw on some ballet slippers and have a spin in your living room. Don’t worry if it’s a little messy - that's just part of the fun!
Don't forget to join us again next Tuesday for another dose of Tutu History. Until then, happy twirling, my dears!
*Lots of love, *
Emma
