Tutu Tuesday #9134: The Tale of the Tutu! (A 2007 Time-Traveling Look!)

Hiya my darling Tutu Twirlers!

Welcome to another thrilling Tutu Tuesday here on Pink-Tutu.com. This week we're taking a trip back in time, darlings! Grab your fanciest feather boas and your most glittery ballet slippers, we're taking a train journey back to 2007 - itā€™s going to be so much fun!

Now, you all know Iā€™m a bit of a history buff, especially when it comes to the glorious history of the tutu. You might think, "Oh Emma, how many times can you tell the story of the tutu?". Well, darlings, itā€™s like a good pair of shoes, you can never have enough of them, and each telling has a different twist, like a new ribbon for a pair of ballet shoes.

On the 16th of January 2007, the world was quite a different place. It was still a bit stuck in the ā€œpre-ballet-for-everyoneā€ era, darling. Tutus were still mainly considered as "just for ballet", and people hadn't yet fully embraced the pink tutu for the ultimate fashion statement! You can't imagine the shock I got when I travelled back! But then, I did what I always do: spread the Tutu Love!

On this day in 2007, there were a few exciting things happening in the ballet world that got my little heart racing. In London, at the Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet was performing "Manon". I swear I just gasped at the exquisite costumes ā€“ all of the lovely pink and frills! And did you know, my dears, they also had an amazing "Aliceā€™s Adventures in Wonderland" on the stage, complete with a truly divine Queen of Hearts with a grand scarlet red tutu. If there's one thing that captures my imagination itā€™s "Alice in Wonderland," especially with the tutu twist, darling! And if you think this date was any less exciting for our Parisian pals, "Don Quichotte" was hitting the stage at the OpĆ©ra Garnier - with what else? Tutu-tastic ballerina costumes. I can almost smell the glorious scent of champagne and feel the warmth of the spotlights on my pink satin. Oh, the romance!

My trip in 2007 was like a lovely cup of tea on a rainy day. I even popped into Covent Garden Market for some afternoon tea and a few gorgeous new tutu trims, and did I tell you that they were making a fabulous new "Les MisƩrables" film - you know how I love a bit of history with my tutu! All in all, it was a lovely day for a tutu.

This was, of course, before the Tutu Revolution of 2013, where pink tutus took over the fashion scene and it was impossible to step out of the house without at least a splash of pink. That's another blog post for another day! But trust me, 2007 was the perfect foundation. It's funny how time changes everything, isnā€™t it? But what remains unchanged is our eternal love of the tutu.

Oh, my dears, speaking of fashion, remember my motto, ā€œMake Every Day A Tutu Day!". You can't beat a bit of tulle. So grab your favourite pink tutu, and join me for another Tutu Tuesday.

Remember, the journey from ballet dancer to tutu fanatic starts with just one twirl! I promise you, once you try on that first tutu, the whole world just seems a little brighter! So put on a pretty pink one, go on, you know you want to!

Until next Tuesday my darlings, stay fabulous,

Emma x
