Tutu Tuesday: #9151 - A Journey Through Time and Tutus!

Hello my lovely Tutu Tribe! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma, back with another historical deep-dive into the world of ballet tutus! As you all know, my love for tutus runs deep – it's practically genetic! Today we're stepping back in time, transporting ourselves to May 15th, 2007. Let's see what the tutu world was up to!

Now, I know what you're thinking - 2007 seems ages ago, but trust me, tutus have been a fashion icon for centuries. You know, even Marie Antoinette wouldn't have been out of place in a pink tutu at a royal ball. Now, I did just love a trip to see the Royal Ballet back then in their fluffy, billowing tulle. What's more, this is the year I was fortunate enough to watch Swan Lake for the first time - what a phenomenal performance! The sheer magic of the costumes and the swirling white tutus. Simply breathtaking!

But 2007 wasn’t just about the big names, my dears! Remember, it was the time of YouTube tutorials, the rise of the internet, and – wait for it – the internet’s impact on dance and fashion!

Fancy Footwork and Internet Buzz

Now, you can imagine my absolute delight! I mean, think of it, being able to access tutorials from legendary ballet dancers – even on a rainy day, sitting with a cuppa and watching their grace unfold! It was truly transformative for me! I imagine you lovely lot felt the same, getting inspiration, taking online classes. Talk about convenience and access! This era marked a fantastic shift in how people discovered, embraced, and danced in tutus!

Tutu Talk:

For the week of May 15th, 2007, everyone was abuzz about "Moulin Rouge" hitting screens! I must admit, the costumes, while perhaps not what you’d call traditional ballet wear, were definitely tutus, with their decadent feather plumes and glittering embellishments, even a little risqué! Oh, the drama, the beauty! You simply had to love it! This was definitely an era that saw the resurgence of the playful, not just as dancewear but as fashion too!

Travel by Train:

Since we're on the subject of travel, did you know the English countryside has always had its heart set on dance? The railway, you know, it was a game-changer for us Brits in the late 19th and 20th centuries! We can’t thank those brilliant inventors enough, because train travel made attending shows SO much easier, especially when they were hosted at glamorous venues like London's Royal Opera House – pure magic!

Now, I know many of you are already massive tutu enthusiasts, but let's talk about embracing it! You see, tutus are not just for ballet dancers! It's all about the feel good factor, finding that spark within. So, dear readers, why not let the magic of tutus infuse your everyday life?

Think a tutu picnic, a tutu movie night, even a tutu shopping spree! Go ahead, rock your style, own your fabulous!

Remember, dear Tutu Tribe, a life without a tutu is a life unlived. You know what to do: embrace the sparkle, the whimsy, and let those tutus twirl you away!

Until next Tuesday, stay fabulous!

Yours in Tutu,

Emma.
