#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History - Post Number 9503 - February 11th 2014

Hello my darling Tutu-lovers! 🩰 Emma here, your very own Pink Tutu-wearing Time-Travelling Ballerina, bringing you another installment of my #TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History Blog! This week, we're venturing back to a most delightful time – February 11th, 2014!

Oh, the glamour, the grace, the sheer joy of tutus back in this era! Just imagine, a world where every little girl dreams of twirling in a pink tutu, and where even grown-up ladies are happy to embrace the magic of a beautiful tulle skirt! It was a glorious time, filled with sparkling tutus and gleaming smiles, wasn’t it?

Speaking of sparkle, I absolutely adored the tutus of 2014. They were just so much fun! The designs were creative, bold and absolutely fabulous – perfect for the energetic, imaginative world of dance. We had short tutus, long tutus, layered tutus – you name it, it was twirling on a stage somewhere in a fabulous ballet performance. And just the colours! So much vibrant pink! 💖

My trip back in time this week saw me in a magnificent theater in [insert city with prominent ballet tradition here]. They were performing [insert a classic ballet like Swan Lake or Nutcracker]. The energy was electrifying – I felt like I could have joined right in and danced amongst the professionals. The tutus were divine.

I had to snap up a stunning pale pink tulle skirt to go with a vintage sequined bodice I found on my little vintage fashion shopping trip. Honestly, these 2014 shoppers had incredible style! Just a whiff of vintage elegance and they’ve got the right feel. Don't forget ladies, vintage is where it’s at, especially for getting the perfect look for a #TutuTuesday! 😉

I’ve learned so much on my travels this week, but a really lovely discovery was about the amazing number of charities supporting dance and ballet in the UK. There was one right in [Insert the City with Prominent Ballet tradition here] which sounded fantastic – giving out scholarships to disadvantaged children who are just bursting with talent. And how do they do this? You’ve guessed it! They hold wonderful events and galas… and the best bit? Most of them involve tutus! I think we all know the best way to help is to spread joy through gorgeous ballet. So good work *[Insert City]! ❤️

But enough about me and my adventures. Now let's chat about YOU!

Have YOU tried out the 2014 tutus? What's your favourite tutu era? Tell me in the comments! 💖 Don't forget, you can wear a tutu ANY day of the week. #EveryDayTutu!

This Tuesday has been extra special for me, I have just finished the most beautiful ballet lesson! 🩰 It's so good to be surrounded by fellow tutu-lovers, enjoying the grace and beauty of ballet. Did you know? Some dancers in 2014 used the phrase "ballet fitness"? A good idea, wouldn’t you agree? Every day should be "ballet fitness"! 🩰

I’m going to sign off now to catch my train – oh! Yes, that’s another great invention they had in 2014 – the train. Much easier and more pleasant to travel than teleporting!

Until next Tuesday, darlings! Happy twirling and stay stylish!

Love, Emma xx
