#TutuTuesday: A Twirl Through Time! 🌸 (Post 9513)
Hiya darlings! It's your favourite tutu-tastic time traveller, Emma, back with another whirl through history for our weekly #TutuTuesday blog. Today, we're shimmying back to 22nd April 2014, and oh my, what a fabulous day for tutus!
Before I start though, have you got your pink tutu ready for a fabulous day of tutus, ballet and fashion? Because we are going to take a spin through history right here on the Pink Tutu Blog! My lovely Derbyshire hometown might not have the hustle and bustle of London or the cultural heart of New York, but trust me, we have tutus and ballerinas all over!
So, picture it: it's a gorgeous Spring day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing (just like us after a good twirl!), and the air is buzzing with the anticipation of…wait for it…the Royal Opera House premiere of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Yes, that's right, the classic children's tale by Lewis Carroll given the magical ballet treatment. Just thinking about all the amazing tutus in this show makes my pointe shoes twirl with excitement!
Now, if you're not already in a pink tutu, this is the perfect day to grab one and twirl out into the world. Just imagine the joy you could bring to people's faces! A bit of pink tulle sprinkled into the ordinary can brighten up anyone's day!
Speaking of joy, have you been watching the latest ballet shows? It seems like everyone's wearing tutus these days! From the Royal Ballet to New York City Ballet, the tutus are absolutely magnificent. Imagine all that hand-stitching, the layers of tulle and the sparkles! A tutu is truly a work of art.
Remember, darlings, a tutu isn't just about fancy footwork and glamorous gowns, it's about the expression of beauty, the freedom of movement, and the magic of a twirling dance. I always say, every girl, every woman, every human being needs a pink tutu in their life! It's the secret to a fabulous life, I promise!
And if you're wondering about my latest fashion obsession, let's just say it involves tutus, sequins and a whole lotta pink! Can't reveal too much right now, but I can tell you that you'll definitely be seeing it at my next show, which is, of course, funded by my fabulous travelling ballet performances. (Shhh! Don't tell anyone how I managed to snag tickets to the Royal Ballet Gala this year. wink wink)
I’m also getting really excited for the World Tutu Day event next month! Now this is one occasion that's dedicated to all things tutus - workshops, competitions, exhibitions, and more! I just know that this is going to be the biggest tutu celebration of the year! So make sure to mark your calendar, girls!
In the meantime, keep twirling and spreading the joy of pink tutus. Let me know in the comments below what your favourite tutu looks like, and where you found it.
Until next week, keep shining! 💖✨
Emma
P.S. I am always looking for new ways to make tutus a part of everyone's life, and I think you can really see the way tutus are becoming part of mainstream culture in this blog post! And yes, I may have just purchased a New York City Ballet tutu that is almost completely made of pink sequins... maybe we will even see that featured on my Pink Tutu Blog one day. Maybe not until next month after World Tutu Day. It would be silly for a pink tutu blog to let this celebration go unnoticed, wouldn't it? 😉
