#TutuTuesday Ballet Tutu History: Post 9748 – October 23rd 2018: A Whirlwind Through Time!
Hello my darlings! Welcome back to another week of tutus and twirls, or should I say, another whirl through time! Today, we’re whisking back to 23rd October 2018, a Tuesday overflowing with colour, costumes, and captivating dance!
As you know, we’ve got a very special occasion happening today. Not only is it my weekly #TutuTuesday post (hurrah!), but it’s also the grand opening of the newly refurbished Royal Opera House in London! I can practically feel the excitement radiating from this historical moment. Just picture it: elegant chandeliers, plush velvet seats, and the stage ready for a magical performance – oh, to be there!
You know I love nothing more than a good opening night. There’s something so enchanting about a fresh start, a clean slate for new creations and captivating performances. But the real star of the show? The tutus of course! I’m so excited to hear which ballet masterpiece they’ll be premiering!
This historical landmark really takes me back. You see, the Royal Opera House has been a true haven for dance lovers for centuries! Its roots can be traced all the way back to the 17th century, a time when dance and opera were considered one! Talk about multitasking! You could say that it was at the heart of all things artistic.
Imagine walking through the doors of this prestigious theatre, taking in the sheer grandeur and imagining the performances of legendary dancers who graced the stage. The sheer power of history feels almost tangible in these buildings. They whisper tales of graceful ballerinas in exquisite tutus, enchanting audiences with their exquisite skill. It’s simply magical!
So, before we get caught up in all this historical wonder, let’s delve into the tutu of the day. What’s been catching my eye in the world of ballet fashion this week? Oh, have you seen the latest designs coming from Paris?!
Absolutely exquisite! Think lush velvet, shimmering sequins, ethereal tulle and even the sparkliest of feathers – everything a ballerina's heart could possibly desire. There’s a reason why these designs have been making waves across the fashion world – it’s about time tutus made it to the catwalks! They deserve a grand entrance in their own right, don’t you think?
I can already picture my new travel wardrobe overflowing with these beauties! I’m particularly drawn to a deep emerald green tulle tutu, the perfect colour to add a touch of regal drama to any ballet performance. Speaking of which, my latest ballet escapades have been taking me on some incredible adventures! I’m off to Vienna next, where I'm planning on catching the Vienna State Opera ballet season. A real gem of the theatre world.
My goodness, I could talk about tutus and travel for hours! But I've got a train to catch for my latest dance performance. But before I go, remember - don’t let anyone tell you that tutus are just for ballerinas. We’ve come so far from the restrictive fashion of the past. Embrace the power of tulle. Be a beacon of bold style. Don't be shy to show off that inner ballerina!
You are all beautiful, inspiring, and deserve a twirl! And hey, why not consider embracing your inner dancer and adding a touch of pink to your world, just like me? You can't go wrong! Don't forget to stay tuned next week, where I'll be bringing you another exciting historical dive into the wonderful world of tutus.
Until next time, keep twirling!
