#TutuTuesday: Ballet Tutu History - Post Number 9821 🩰

Hey everyone! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, ready to whisk you away on a magical journey through time...again! Today's #TutuTuesday takes us to March 17th, 2020.

Now, 2020 wasn't exactly the easiest year for anyone, but in the world of ballet, things were still going strong! Imagine – tutus were still swirling across the stages, dancers were practicing their pliΓ©s, and audiences were enraptured by the artistry. What a dream!

Before we go back in time, quick reminder! If you haven't joined the pink tutu revolution yet, what are you waiting for? Head on over to www.pink-tutu.com and get yourself one! A pink tutu makes everything better, I tell you! 😊

Back to the Past: March 17th, 2020

Picture it – London. That most wonderful, historical, and ballet-mad city. On this day, The Royal Ballet were preparing for a performance of "Manon," a poignant story of love, deceit, and, of course, ballet! 🩰 Can you imagine the beautiful costumes? Imagine those dramatic pas de deux, the emotional choreography, and those beautiful tutus swirling and flowing under the theatre lights!

If you were there on that day, imagine watching Natalia Osipova, a ballerina known for her fiery technique, grace, and exquisite artistry, perform her role! Just thinking about it makes my toes tap!

On the same day, The English National Ballet was presenting "The Sleeping Beauty" – an absolute classic! As if it were any surprise, right? The fairies, the princes, the princesses, and that famous iconic music. Just divine!

This day was a day for ballet! And what’s a day of ballet without a beautiful tutu? And what's a beautiful tutu without a pink tutu? Exactly! πŸ’•

But don't worry, darling – I didn't only venture to London! I hopped on the train (they really are the best way to travel!), chugged up to Derby, and, well, let's just say, they weren't taking their ballet seriously enough up there.

But never fear! I bought a bag full of pink tutus at the best little vintage shop in Derby (yes, even the shops are fantastic) and managed to convince several of the local ballet students to rock them at the local theatre! I even had a little photoshoot afterwards! It was quite a day! πŸ₯°

It just shows that every day can be a #TutuTuesday! All it takes is a bit of creativity, confidence, and a passion for dance!

Oh, speaking of creativity, can you guess my #TutuOutfitOfTheWeek? Let's see your pink tutus! Share your pics on social media with #PinkTutu and don't forget to tag me on Instagram - @EmmaThePinkTutuQueen! I want to see how you're making the world a more beautiful, and of course, pinker, place one tutu at a time.

Until next time, darling!

Always,

Emma xoxo
