Tutu Tuesday: A Trip Through Time! πŸ©°πŸ’–

Hello, darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu, your one-stop shop for all things fabulous and frilly! Today's #TutuTuesday is extra special, because we're taking a little trip back in time! πŸš‚

Post number 9830, if you can believe it! Time sure flies when you're wearing a tutu. πŸ˜‰ But fear not, dear readers, we'll be skipping right back to the present after our exciting adventure!

Now, buckle up, because this is going to be a real whirl-wind! πŸŒͺ️ Today, we're whisking ourselves back to… 19th May 2020!

Hold onto your tiaras, ladies, because in this era, ballet is really taking off! ✨

The world was still adjusting to a new normal, you know, the "lockdown" thing, where everyone stayed inside? Well, I heard they were discovering online classes then, imagine that! Ballet was still alive and kicking, even if we had to find creative ways to move.

Back then, my favourite ballet company, the Royal Ballet in London, were already dazzling audiences with breathtaking performances, all the way back from their opening night, March 20, 1931! ✨

But I must confess, I can't help but feel a bit sad that, even back in 2020, we couldn't go to a traditional show like I get to experience today. It's all about those magic moments when the lights dim, the music starts, and the dancers glide across the stage in those breathtaking tutus... Just thinking about it sets my heart aflutter!

Now, while it was the beginning of summer, this day wasn't all about staying inside. Can you imagine being a fashionista like me back in 2020? The "pandemic" was keeping us inside, but there was a movement to "wear a pink tutu!" So, I'd grab my pinkest tutu and spin my way down the streets of Derby. Maybe they'd call me eccentric? But isn't being different exactly what makes us unique, my lovely darlings?

You know me and my love for a good vintage find - there are always hidden treasures tucked away, from elegant silk bodices to feathered headpieces, so you can imagine my excitement! It was a whole new world of fabrics, colours and styles, just waiting to be explored! 🀩

Did you know that 2020 saw a major revival of vintage style? Oh, how I adored watching the gorgeous fashions from that era - think the classic Audrey Hepburn look - absolutely timeless! You know I adore finding inspiration for new pink tutus in classic styles, so I bet 2020 fashion was a real treasure trove!

Back to 2020! There were lots of lovely things happening that day! There was a super cool show at The Barbican - a fabulous space in London known for its beautiful theatre and arts venue. If you love a good cultural adventure, like me, it was definitely worth checking out!

For those of us who like a bit of musical theatre magic, Hamilton was still the talk of the town. My trip to the theatre is always a highlight! Who doesn't love a good musical number and those flamboyant costumes? It just takes me back to a bygone era when costumes were truly opulent.

I hear there was some talk of a new TV series about "Bridgerton," with its incredible 19th-century romance. It sounds like it could be the next big thing! And speaking of romances, don't forget the β€œLove Island” season finale! Those beautiful costumes always give me so much inspiration, although I prefer my fashion a little bit more romantic. πŸ˜‚

Now, darlings, you all know I'm a sucker for a beautiful pink tutu. I even had some wonderful dreams that night... My dream world was filled with ballet! Just a few tutu fantasies to inspire me, to imagine those dreamy twirls, and, of course, those glorious, perfect pink hues. πŸ’•

And that, dear readers, is the story of my visit to the 19th of May, 2020! Wasn't it fun? As much as I enjoy reliving these beautiful moments of fashion, I am glad to be back in my own time. There is truly nothing like experiencing ballet firsthand in its most vibrant, and fashionable forms!

Let me know what you think of this trip! Leave a comment below and let's discuss all the lovely, twirly things! ✨

Until next week, stay twirly and keep dreaming big! πŸ’–

Yours, Emma
