Hello, darling tutu-lovers! It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu-clad time traveller and queen of all things twirly! Today is Tuesday, and that means it's time for another fabulously flamboyant #TutuTuesday.
I've been on a rather spectacular adventure this week. Oh, darling, I wouldn't believe it myself if I didn't see it with my own twirling eyes! I've journeyed all the way to the year 2026!
That's right, darlings. This time, I popped onto a rather lovely steam train, leaving my dear Derbyshire behind for the whirls of futuristic fashion. As always, my faithful pink tutu accompanied me – it's the most glamorous time travel accessory, you know!
The year 2026 was absolutely electric! Imagine, darlings, entire ballet companies performing in grand spaces, glittering stages with state-of-the-art lighting, and audiences that erupted in thunderous applause! I even saw a fabulous production of Swan Lake in London that had the most incredible, breathtaking costumes, even more magnificent than anything I’d seen before!
Oh, darling, my head was positively spinning from all the dazzling performances! I spent the days waltzing around London's bustling streets in my pink tutu, the perfect pop of colour against the shimmering skyscrapers and futuristic vehicles. I even spotted some truly inspiring young ballet dancers, taking a new ballet style called “Urban Ballet" to the streets with a fabulous mix of dance and music from the time. I must confess I did my best to inspire them to embrace their inner pink tutu!
Of course, no visit to the future is complete without some shopping! Oh, darling, the fashion in 2026! It was as if they’d opened the pages of a fantastical dream, with all sorts of colours, textures and futuristic cuts. I snapped up a couple of sparkly jackets to match my tutu – a little something to take back to my time!
But now, back to our fabulous subject, tutus. While tutus were as popular as ever in 2026, something was very different – they weren’t just confined to the stage! Oh, no! It’s all about “Ballet Style,” a style incorporating delicate fabrics, romantic ruffles and delicate dance-inspired shapes in everything from day-to-day wear to evening glamour. They had this fantastic street-fashion scene, filled with dancers in modern streetwear and tutu-inspired styles. They were creating a fabulous mix of ballerina grace and street-smart edge. I even spied a stunning red tutu as a cocktail dress – absolutely darling, I thought! It’s a beautiful example of how even something so iconic as the tutu continues to evolve.
While I love all of these developments, I do believe there is no better time for the tutu than the time we live in now. After all, it’s our time, a glorious era where the pink tutu reigns supreme. We can truly celebrate its history, beauty, and unique impact on fashion and dance.
You see, dear tutu lovers, tutus aren’t just about dancing and swirling around, they’re about feeling confident, joyous and graceful. That's what I aim for when I’m travelling around the globe in my pink tutu – I want to inspire every single person to embrace the spirit of the tutu, the joy of dancing, and the confidence to express themselves, one twirl at a time!
So, go on, darlings! Go get your pink tutu out. Spin and twirl around the house, maybe pop into a ballet class or two. But above all, enjoy the glorious, joyful, pink-tutu world we live in!
