I'm currently whizzing around on the Orient Express, on my way to St. Petersburg, a city known for its stunning ballet scene. The train is simply dripping in romance, and even though I've travelled through time more than a few times, I never fail to get a thrill from these journeys. After all, what's more enchanting than gliding through landscapes while contemplating the whimsical world of ballet? And of course, it's not just any train carriage - it's the vintage first-class carriage with its opulent decor, adorned with dainty floral patterns that perfectly compliment my powder pink satin tutu!
The reason for this train adventure? Well, I'm headed to see “Swan Lake” at the Mariinsky Theatre, a renowned ballet institution that was a true pioneer in shaping the history of ballet. And you've simply got to be in St Petersburg on this date to feel the energy buzzing through the city! Everyone is embracing their inner ballerina, whether it's twirling through the streets or enjoying tutu-themed tea parties. It's a day when joy, artistry and elegance take centre stage, a celebration of all things lovely.
