Today, my friends, we're whisking ourselves off to the vibrant streets of…wait for it…Paris, 1932! That's right, we're waltzing back to a time when elegance and femininity reigned supreme, a time that saw the rise of some seriously iconic fashion trends.
But first, a quick sip of my favourite raspberry tea, as I imagine myself in a beautiful vintage Parisian salon, surrounded by mirrors and feather boas… Ooh la la! Now, back to our tutu-filled adventure!
1932: The Tutu's Parisian Panache
Paris in the early 1930s, oh how glamorous it was! The city was buzzing with a captivating mix of Art Deco designs, flapper dresses, and a sprinkle of whimsical couture. This was the era of Marie Laurencin, the iconic artist known for her soft, feminine portraits and whimsical ballet-inspired creations. Her art echoed the very spirit of this tutu-tastic time!
The tutus of the 1930s were just as chic as the women who wore them. Imagine soft, delicate fabrics, a delicate whisper of silk, tulle and gauze swirling around the dancers, each movement a poem in motion! And yes, the colour pink, my beloved shade, was making its grand entrance, finding its way onto the tutus of many Parisian ballerinas!

But how did I get to Paris in 1932? Why, I travelled there in the most wonderful way - by train! A luxurious compartment filled with opulent fabrics, soft lighting and a captivating melody of jazz playing on a gramophone.
To think, my time travels are all funded by my fabulous ballet performances! After all, who needs a regular job when you can dance your way through time, soaking up the essence of tutus throughout the ages? And speaking of shows, there was something spectacular happening in Paris during the spring of 1932 - the premiere of The Little Prince! I missed that one by a couple of years (I still haven't quite figured out that time machine), but can you imagine a Parisian theater bathed in soft pink lights, accompanied by a gentle waltz and enchanting choreography? The perfect place to wear a dreamy pink tutu, if I may say so myself.
