Berlin, Baby! ๐Ÿฉฐ Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the German Capital (Blog Post #32)

Guten Tag, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, fresh off the train and ready to sashay my way through Berlin! This gorgeous city is calling my name, and with a tutu this fabulous, how could I resist? It's my 32nd blog post, so settle in with a cuppa and let's have a right old gossip!

You know I love a bit of travel, and a good train journey is a perfect way to kick off any adventure. I packed my signature pink travel suitcase (you know, the one with the sparkly unicorn decal - got it at Primark for a bargain!) and boarded the train with all the panache of a true fashion icon. Luckily, a kind soul helped me with my massive pink tulle ball gown - I call it 'Berlin Blossom' - it wouldn't fit in a regular suitcase, obviously!

And let me tell you, the scenery on the way to Berlin was absolutely divine. Picturesque villages, fields full of sunflowers - it was almost as inspiring as a ballet performance. (Okay, maybe not almost. Ballet really does have a special place in my heart. You all know about my childhood dream of dancing on the stage of the Royal Opera House in London, right?)

Anyway, back to the trip! First things first - the hotel. Oh. My. Goodness. Imagine a pastel pink building with balconies overlooking a leafy courtyard - think fairytale vibes but with modern touches like a sparkling champagne bar! My kind of place, that's for sure.

The rest of my time in Berlin has been a whirlwind of cultural delights! I saw the Brandenburg Gate, which was more majestic than I imagined - definitely more imposing than my local park. We even got some lovely photos taken near it in my 'Berlin Blossom' tutu. You'll see them all over my social media feeds soon! I did a bit of shopping on the famous Unter den Linden street - picked up a new feather boa for a song at a vintage store. It was like finding a diamond in the rough, trust me, it's absolutely exquisite!

Naturally, no trip to Berlin is complete without a taste of the local delights. I tried a traditional currywurst (a bit of a spicy kick for this pink princess!), and sampled some Berliner Weisse, a sour beer - refreshing and absolutely perfect for a sunny afternoon. Speaking of which, Berlin sunshine has definitely lived up to its hype. The city looks especially fabulous bathed in that warm, golden glow!

Oh, and did I tell you about the ballet show I went to? The Berliner Staatsoper (the Berlin State Opera) hosted the most fantastic performance of 'Swan Lake' - the dancers were graceful and beautiful, and I was entranced by the dramatic story and elegant costumes. It left me wanting to go back to my ballet classes and perfect my pirouettes! I must admit, after the show, I ended up pirouette-ing my way through the street, much to the amusement of the local populace.

And here's a bit of gossip for you: I even met a cute drag queen who showed me around her favourite LGBTQ+ clubs. You all know I'm a huge supporter of inclusivity and celebrating diversity, and seeing so much vibrant nightlife made me feel so welcome. It reminded me how amazing it is to travel and connect with people from all walks of life.

You know, travel really does inspire me in so many ways. I come home with my head full of ideas, fresh perspectives, and of course, a suitcase full of new outfit additions! I can already tell my next performance in Derbyshire is going to be packed with inspiration. My pink tutu-loving self can't wait!

But now it's time for this pink princess to sign off. Catch me on the train, heading back to the lab in Derbyshire (where by day, I'm the most unassuming scientist you could imagine!) Stay fabulous, everyone. Until next time! ๐Ÿ’–
