Sale: Tutu Tales #37

Hello my darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with another blog post straight from my little corner of pink-tastic fun! I've had the absolute most magnificent time travelling to Sale for a show this weekend, and I thought I'd share all the glittering details with you all.

First things first, I travelled in style, naturally! This time I was whisked away by a trusty train, rocking my signature pink outfit with my latest feather boa, adding a touch of extra sass to the carriage. I always find travelling by train allows me to fully embrace my Tutu Queen vibes! There's something so whimsical about watching the world roll by from a train window, and it gives me time to mentally choreograph my next routine. You'd be surprised at the creative inspiration that comes from a good ol' train journey!

Upon arriving in Sale, my eyes were immediately drawn to the vibrant atmosphere of the town centre! It's full of life, with so many colourful little shops and cafes, perfect for indulging in a spot of retail therapy or grabbing a cheeky afternoon tea. Speaking of tea, let me tell you about my favourite discovery - a hidden gem called "The Pink Teapot." This quaint little spot served up the most delectable pastries and sandwiches, all washed down with a steaming pot of the most fragrant Earl Grey. It was simply divine!

But my mission in Sale wasn't purely for indulgence. I was there to spread the gospel of the pink tutu, naturally! You see, darlings, my goal in life is to see every single person sporting a pink tutu at least once. I want to unleash the playful spirit within everyone and encourage them to embrace their inner twirling, dancing diva! And believe me, the town of Sale was absolutely ready for the Tutu Queen magic.

The show was held in a beautiful old theatre, with ornate balconies and a stage bathed in rosy lights. It was like stepping back in time, but with a modern twist, all thanks to me, of course! Before my set, I had the pleasure of meeting some absolutely delightful people. They were all so friendly and welcoming, truly making me feel right at home. Even the theatre staff seemed to be wearing secret smiles knowing they were about to witness a pink tutu extravaganza!

I took to the stage with my trademark pink feather boa, a glorious tulle skirt that wouldn't quit, and the biggest smile you've ever seen! The audience roared with laughter, cheered with excitement, and some even got up to dance along. I had them spellbound with a dazzling mix of ballet and street moves, and even brought some audience members up for a tutu-tastic surprise! I really felt like I was bringing a bit of sparkle and joy to Sale that evening.

After the performance, the local community invited me for drinks at a lovely pub called “The Crown.” I couldn't resist donning a little black sequin jacket over my tutu for a more understated look, while still making a statement with my fabulous feathered boa. The locals were incredibly welcoming, treating me to a truly hilarious pub quiz, where I shamelessly flaunted my knowledge of ballet and drag history. You see, I always do a little research about the town before I go, it’s all in the name of connecting with the community and keeping it classy, darling! Turns out, Sale had quite a bit of fascinating local history, including a bit about some of the early vaudeville and burlesque performers! What a fun way to learn about local history, wouldn't you agree?

I wrapped up the evening by strolling through the illuminated streets of Sale, enjoying the festive atmosphere, feeling very proud to have spread the tutu gospel far and wide! As I boarded my train back to Derbyshire, I couldn’t help but ponder the day’s journey and all the beautiful moments and conversations that unfolded.

I think back to how I fell in love with pink tutus, how my passion for drag performance developed from my love for ballet, and how my passion for sharing my love for pink tutus is bringing people together! As I fall asleep on my train journey, with the quiet sounds of the rolling wheels as my lullaby, I feel nothing but pure gratitude and hope! I can't wait to see what adventures the future holds for Pink Tutu Sparkles and all her Tutu Queen ambitions.

But that's not all, darlings! Next week I’m off to a charming little town nestled in the Cotswolds, where I plan to give a special performance at the local theatre! My suitcase is packed with the brightest, pinkest tutus imaginable and I’m ready to unleash a new level of Tutu Queen magic upon the unsuspecting locals! I promise to capture every glittering moment and share them with you here, on www.pink-tutu.com, so make sure you come back for all the pink and playful details!

Stay glamorous and keep twirling, Pink Tutu Sparkles! 💋
