Colchester Calling: A Tutu Tale! ๐Ÿ’–โœจ

Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with you again, for a little jaunt down to the historic city of Colchester! It's post number 41, and boy oh boy, have I got a story to tell! (That's post number 41 on www.pink-tutu.com, if you're new to my little corner of the internet, so make sure you follow for daily dose of sparkle!)

The journey itself was a right fairytale. I always get such a thrill when I get to travel by train. You just settle in with your hot chocolate (marshmallows, obviously!), your fab magazine, and watch the countryside whizz past! It's all about the adventure, the anticipation for a brand new stage, and just feeling that magic, like when you first open up a brand new lipstick (though that magic works better in a bright, shimmery pink, wouldn't you agree?).

Speaking of pink! The Colchester folks really know how to dress it up. My heart skipped a beat as the station vibrated with so much vibrance and a distinct sprinkle of... pink, of course! There's just something about those little details, a dash of colour in someone's handbag, a floral print, a brightly coloured scarf. You know what I mean? A little pink goes a long way in bringing joy to a world that often needs a little more spark, darling!

First Stop: The Little Mermaid - oh what a treat!

I just HAD to kick things off with a trip to the Colchester Arts Centre, to see "The Little Mermaid." Now, as a drag queen, you can imagine my love of storytelling and theatre runs deep! And what better than a little dose of magical underwater wonder? I can't give away too much, but the costumes, the dancing, the sheer talent...it all had me doing that classic little clap-to-the-beat dance that only someone in a pink tutu could understand, am I right?

Tea Time and Tiaras at The Holly Tree Inn

A good dose of arts and culture is all well and good, but then it's time for the REAL reason for visiting Colchester. Oh, yes. Tea time, darling!. I can't resist a good scone, jam, and cream with my Earl Grey tea! And I was blessed by the most charming little tearoom: The Holly Tree Inn. Imagine a cozy, vintage setting with floral wallpaper, dainty china cups, and an array of sweet treats... just divine! We even had a few guests in lovely hats, so chic! A proper afternoon treat, my dears.

Sharing a Tutu Tale: My Secret Inspiration

Speaking of secrets... let's chat about the "why" of all this, eh? Why am I Pink Tutu Sparkles? Why the pink tutus, why the glittery outfits, the sparkly eyeliner, the dramatic flair? For some, drag is all about taking on different personas, embracing the absurd and breaking boundaries, and oh boy, that's all my cup of tea! But what gets me, the REAL magic, is watching people, all different ages, laugh at my performances. That feeling, that "aha, you got me" moment in my audience's eyes...it fills me with such joy! I always remind myself, though, of that first tutu moment. Back when I was studying science. You'd never guess, but that scientific mind still needs to be fed! I was testing fabrics in a lab one day, when, boom, there it was - a pink tutu, all ruffled and delicate, begging to be spun and twirled! It was a charity event at our university's ballet club, and it hit me like a flash. My eyes were wide open to a world of possibilities... of colour, expression, and laughter! You just can't bottle that, darling.

Taking to the Colchester Stages... With a Tutu Twirl!

It's no surprise that I've been buzzing around Colchester in search of my own little pink stage to share some magic! Now, I've found it! My fellow Colchester-loving peeps, join me tomorrow night for my performance at The Castle Inn! We'll be dancing the night away, sipping cocktails, and perhaps a little shimmying to the music! Oh, and let's not forget about that stunning backdrop - a medieval castle. Perfection! It just goes to show, darling, that any place can become a sparkling palace when you wear your tutu with a heart full of joy!

So, if you see a shimmery pink plume waltzing down Colchester's cobblestone streets, give a little wave and share a smile!

It's about finding your own little stage, however small or large. Embrace those glittery moments, let loose those hidden talents, and always remember that the world is a stage and a little pink tutu is all you need to shine!

Until next time, stay sparkling,

Your favourite pink-tutu-loving, theatre-obsessed, glitter-throwing drag queen,

Pink Tutu Sparkles! ๐Ÿ’•โœจ
