South Shields Sparkle! πŸ’–βœ¨ Post 84

Hello my darlings, and welcome to Pink Tutu Sparkles’ blog! πŸ‘‘ Today I’m shimmying my way through the windswept shores of South Shields, and let me tell you, my little darlings, this town is just bursting with personality! ✨

Now, some of you might think, β€œPink Tutu in South Shields? Surely not!” But I’m here to tell you, dear friends, there's no place I won’t go in my pink tutu! πŸ’– And let me tell you, these South Shields peeps, they embraced my twirls and sequins with open arms and a good ol’ Geordie laugh! πŸ˜‚

My journey to South Shields was an absolute adventure, as usual! I packed my suitcase, which as you all know is more like a glamorous, sequined carry-on for all things fabulous! I have to pack so many things for each show: my stunning pink tutu collection, glittering jewellery, sparkly makeup and the shoes… oh my! I packed my boots (flat for dancing, obvs!), high heels for my strut, and ballet shoes for my special number. Of course, I couldn't leave my tiara at home! πŸ‘‘

I opted for a scenic train journey, because let's face it, who wouldn't want to be transported to the North East with a cuppa in hand and the English countryside flitting past the window? The landscape just inspired me for my routine! ✨

When I arrived at South Shields, it was like stepping into a different world. It had this amazing mixture of gritty history and modern charm - perfect for a drag queen on the go! πŸ’– I had the most adorable time just exploring the cobblestone streets, the bustling market, and of course, the stunning beach! Did I mention I even caught a glimpse of a ship called "The Pink Flamingo"? I swear I just gasped! πŸ¦©πŸ’–

My show was at a small pub called "The Crown and Anchor." It's been around since the 18th century! The staff were so welcoming and lovely - the barmaid, Mary, was a dream, and she even let me try on one of the big sparkly crowns! ✨ It's no wonder my performance went down a treat. The crowd loved my sparkly dance moves, my funny stories, and the message of spreading joy and embracing the fabulousness of pink tutus. πŸ’– I even had one brave gentleman in the crowd who took the challenge and came onstage to try on a tutu! He was the best sport! πŸ‘

And guess what? Even a tiny little baby girl was captivated by the sequins! 😍 I swear I saw her smile as I did my "pink ballerina twirls" in my signature shimmering pink tutu! πŸ’• There's truly nothing more magical than sharing the power of sparkles with the little ones! It makes my heart full!

My journey in South Shields taught me, once again, that love knows no postcode and sparkly tutus can brighten up even the dullest day! Every city, town, and village can use a sprinkle of pink! πŸ’– So, my dear friends, I challenge you to spread the sparkle. Wear your favourite pink outfit, do a little dance for the people, and never be afraid to stand out from the crowd! ✨

That's all from me for now, darling. Don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com for more sparkles and all things pink! ✨

Until next time, keep on shining,

Behind the Sequins: Alex's Take

Oh, my stars, what a day! As Alex, I have to say that South Shields really was the perfect antidote to lab life. Testing fabrics in a controlled environment is a million miles away from the adrenaline rush of performing in my pink tutu. πŸ˜…

Even though the stage is very different from the lab, I've learned a lot about colour and how it interacts with the world! I apply that knowledge to both my experiments AND my outfits. The most amazing thing is how pink tutus, just like lab results, bring out the unexpected reactions! πŸ’–

One of my favourite moments was watching the little girl react to my pink ballerina moves. There’s something so special about sharing that joy of sparkle with the youngest generation! I think it’s how the love of tutus started for me, all the way back when I tried on that charity one in university ballet club. The science degree made me realize that tutus, in all their dazzling glory, are literally pure fabric science, a beautiful symphony of material and movement! πŸ’•

So, my darlings, you might think of me as a drag queen, but I'm also a scientist! I am passionate about showing how even something as seemingly simple as a pink tutu can bring joy, light up a crowd, and bring people together. ✨ And just maybe, just maybe, the lab won’t be so bleak after all! πŸ˜‰

I'm signing off for now, but remember to keep checking back to www.pink-tutu.com to follow my adventures as I keep sparkling all over the UK! πŸ’•

See you next time! πŸ’–
